CHL Top-10 Rankings presented by Delta Hotels by Marriott: London still No. 1, while Windsor & Kitchener among the biggest risers following holiday break

TORONTO, ON — Today, the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced the Week 13 edition of its CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2024-25 season.

With 26 wins and only two regulation losses over their last 29 games, the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) continue to hold down the No. 1 spot, a position they’ve held since November 19. Trailing in second is the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), who are amid an eight-game winning streak as they sit first in the QMJHL. Lastly, rounding out the top three are the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League (WHL), who are riding a six-game point streak (4-0-1-1) as they hold a nine-point lead in the WHL.

Among the week’s biggest risers are the Kitchener Rangers and the Windsor Spitfires, who both play in the OHL. Having reeled off six victories in a row, the Rangers have moved up two spots to find themselves at a season-best No. 4 in the CHL Top-10 Rankings. Meanwhile, riding the longest active winning streak at eight victories in a row, the Spitfires are up to fifth and back in the top five for the first time since the beginning of November.

The next rankings will be released the week of January 13, following the 14th week of regular season action in all three member leagues of the CHL.

TORONTO, ON — Today, the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced the Week 12 edition of its CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2024-25 season.

With 21 wins over their last 23 games, the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) find themselves at No. 1 for a fifth week in a row. Right behind them is the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), who alongside the Knights share the best point percentage of any club in the CHL at .806. Finally, rounding out the top three, are the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League (WHL), whose 25 wins are tied with London for the most in the CHL.

The rise of the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL and the entry of the Barrie Colts of the OHL are among the more notable changes to this week’s rankings. With 10 victories over their last 11 games, the Spokane Chiefs are up a spot in eighth this week. Meanwhile, having collected a point in nine of their last 10 games (7-1-1-1), the Barrie Colts are making their Top-10 debut of the season in ninth.

The next rankings will be released the week of January 6, following the holiday break of all three CHL Member Leagues and the 2025 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship. The QMJHL has officially begun its holiday break, while the OHL and WHL have games throughout this week. The WHL will be the first to come back from break with 10 games on Friday, December 27, before the QMJHL and OHL will mark their return on Saturday, December 28.

Having won 19 of their last 20 games, the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) rank first for the fourth straight week. Right behind them in second is the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League (WHL), whose 51 points through 30 games are tied for the third-most of any WHL club over the last 10 years. Next, rounding out the top three, are the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), who continue to rank first in the QMJHL’s overall standings. 

Among some of the biggest changes in this week’s rankings were the rise of the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL and the entry of the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL into the rankings. Riding a six-game winning streak, the Rangers entered into the top five for the first time this season. Meanwhile, on the longest active winning streak in the CHL at nine games, the Chiefs are making their Top-10 debut of the season in ninth.

The next rankings will be released the week of December 18, following the 12th week of regular season action in all three member leagues of the CHL. Next week’s rankings will also be the last ones before the holiday break, as the CHL’s Member Leagues will kick start their holiday break between December 14-20 before returning to action later in the month.

Having extended their point streak to eight games (7-0-1-0) with a pair of victories last week, the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) are in the No. 1 spot for a fifth week in a row. Riding a nine-game winning streak, the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) are up to second in this week’s rankings, while the reigning QMJHL champion Drummondville Voltigeurs are down one spot in third.

Among the biggest movers and shakers of the week were a pair of clubs from the Western Hockey League (WHL) – the Prince George Cougars and the Tri-City Americans. Having collected a point in seven consecutive contests (5-0-1-1), the Cougars are back in the top five for the first time since October 22. Meanwhile, currently on the longest winning streak in the CHL this season at 12 victories in a row, the Americans are making their CHL Top-10 debut this season in eighth.

CHL Top-10 Rankings: Moncton holds firm at No. 1, while Kitchener & Chicoutimi enter the rankings

TORONTO, ON — Today, the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced the Week 6 edition of its CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2024-25 season.

Riding a six-game point streak (5-0-1-0), the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) maintained their place atop the CHL Top-10 Rankings for the fourth consecutive week. As one of just three clubs with a CHL-best 13 wins this season, the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the QMJHL are up a spot to No. 2, while the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) slipped down a place to find themselves in third this week.

Among the biggest changes to this week’s rankings were the rise of the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL and the Chicoutimi Saguenéens of the QMJHL. The Rangers, who are currently in the midst of the longest point streak in the CHL at 14 games (12-0-1-1), are making their Top-10 debut of the 2024-25 campaign in seventh. Meanwhile, riding a six-game winning streak, the Saguenéens are also making their first appearance of the season in these rankings at No. 10.

With nine victories over their last 10 games, the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) rank first for a third straight week. Holding the best point percentage in the CHL at .875, the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) are up to their highest ranking of the season at No. 2. Meanwhile, the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the QMJHL moved up to third as they remain one of only three teams in the CHL with at least 11 wins this season.

Among some of the other biggest movers and shakers was the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League (WHL) and London Knights of the OHL, who both climbed up the rankings to No. 4 and No. 5 respectively after going undefeated last week. With seven wins over their last 10 games, the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) remained in the top spot for a second week in a row. Riding the longest winning streak in the CHL this season at seven straight victories, the Rimouski Océanic of the QMJHL climbed up to second place, while the Brampton Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) slipped down a spot for a second straight week, this time to No. 3.

Among some of this week’s biggest risers were the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the QMJHL and the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL, who came in at No. 5 and No. 6 respectively this week. The Voltigeurs are one of only two nine-win teams in the CHL so far during the 2024-25 campaign, while the Spitfires continue to hold the best point percentage of any club in the CHL at .850.

The next rankings will be released the week of October 28, following the fifth week of regular season action in all three member leagues of the CHL.

Right behind them are the Brampton Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), who fell down a spot to second, while the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League (WHL) remain in third.

Undefeated over the last week, the Rimouski Océanic of the QMJHL, the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL, and the London Knights of the OHL were among this week’s biggest risers. CHL Top-10 Rankings: Medicine Hat, Brampton & London top preseason rankings ahead of 2024-25 campaign

TORONTO, ON — The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced today the preseason edition of its CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2024-25 season. 

Sitting atop the list to begin the regular season is the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League (WHL), followed by the Brampton Steelheads the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), and the London Knights of the OHL who round out the top three.

The preseason rankings were determined with input from NHL Central Scouting ahead of the start of the regular season, which officially begins this Friday (September 20) with 17 games across the CHL. Specifically, nine of those contests on September 20 will kick start the latest QMJHL campaign, while on that same night, eight games in the WHL will usher in a new season. Then, just a few nights later, the Saginaw Spirit will mark the beginning of the latest OHL regular season by raising their 2024 Memorial Cup Championship banner before hosting the Windsor Spitfires on Wednesday, September 25.

CHL Top-10 Rankings: Prince George concludes regular season at No.1, while London & Saginaw round out the Top 3

TORONTO, ON — The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced today the Week 25 and final edition of its CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2023-24 season.

Heading into the playoffs on a 19-game point streak (17-0-1-1), the longest active point streak in the CHL, the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League (WHL) closed out the season as the No.1-ranked team in the CHL. The Cougars finished the 2023-24 campaign with a +129 goal differential, which ranked as the best of any club in the CHL this season. Right behind them is the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), who won their two games last week to earn the Hamilton Spectator Trophy as the OHL Regular Season Champions. It marked the seventh time in club history that the Knights have earned this distinction and the first time in 11 years. Finally, rounding out the top three was the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL, who posted their first 50-win and 100-point campaign in franchise history as they prepare to host the 2024 Memorial Cup presented by Dow at the end of May.

The highest-ranked team from the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) was the No.4-ranked Baie-Comeau Drakkar, who led all CHL clubs with 53 wins this season and were one of four teams across the CHL to top 50 wins. Another club to achieve the latter was the No.6-ranked Saskatoon Blades of the WHL, who along with the Drakkar, gave up the fewest amount of goals in the CHL this season – as both allowed an average of 2.40 goals per game. The Drakkar and the Blades also finished the year as the regular season champions of the QMJHL and WHL, respectively.
