OHL ANNOUNCES TOP PERFORMERS OF THE WEEK FOR OCT. 27 – NOV. 2, 2025

TORONTO (Monday, November 3, 2025) – The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) today announced Top Performers of the Week for the week of regular season games ending Sunday, November 2, 2025.


Attack’s Harry Nansi Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Harry Nansi of the Owen Sound Attack is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, recording nine points (1-8–9) over three home victories.

Nansi was a playmaking presence for the Attack, with seven of his eight assists last week coming as primary helpers. He collected three in quick succession on Wednesday, helping linemate Tristan Delisle score a second period hat-trick in a 7-3 win over the Sarnia Sting. Nansi chipped in another assist on on a Delisle goal Saturday as the Attack defeated the Sudbury Wolves 4-3. He rounded-out the weekend on Sunday with five points including a third period goal along with four assists as the Bears bested the Erie Otters 8-3.

An 18-year-old right-wing from Nepean, ON, Nansi has matched a season-high with 23 points (6-17–23) over 17 games this season. The 6-foot-3, 179Ib. flank was Toronto’s fifth round (153rd overall) pick this past summer. Nansi has accumulated 55 points (13-42–55) over 125 regular season games with the Attack since being selected by Owen Sound in the fourth round (74th overall) in 2023.

Knights’ Aleksei Medvedev Named Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week

Vancouver Canucks prospect Aleksei Medvedev is the Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week, going 2-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and .970 save percentage across a pair of road wins.

Medvedev was in the crease on Thursday in Peterborough, stopping 35-of-36 as the Knights prevailed over the Petes by a score of 6-1. He returned to action on Sunday, making 30 saves in a second star effort as the Knights rounded-out their East Division road trip with a 6-1 win over the Frontenacs.

An 18-year-old sophomore, Medvedev leads OHL netminders with a 1.86 goals-against average to go with a 6-1-1-0 record and .929 save percentage through eight games. Vancouver’s second round (47th overall) pick this past summer, Medvedev owns a career regular season record of 28-9-3-0 with a 2.61 goals-against average and .915 save percentage with three shutouts. The 6-foot-3, 180Ib. Medvedev was last year’s recipient of the OHL’s F.W. Dinty Moore Trophy, posting a league-best 2.79 goals-against average among rookies, while also being voted to the league’s first all-rookie team. The former Memorial Cup champion was London’s second round (38th overall) pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection.

67’s’ Ryder Fetterolf Named OHL Rookie of the Week

Ottawa 67’s goaltender Ryder Fetterolf is the OHL Rookie of the Week, going 2-0 with a 0.96 goals-against average, .960 save percentage and a shutout.

Fetterolf got the start in Wednesday’s school day contest against the visiting Brampton Steelheads, turning aside 32 shots in a 3-2 overtime win. He returned to the crease on Sunday night in Oshawa, making 16 saves in his second shutout of the season as the 67’s won by a score of 3-0.

A 17-year-old from Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Fetterolf is off to a tremendous start, posting a 6-2-1-0 record, 1.87 goals-against average and .925 save percentage with two shutouts over nine games. The NHL Draft eligible netminder was signed by Ottawa as a free agent over the offseason after spending 2024-25 at Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills, Ohio. Fetterolf was included on NHL Central Scouting’s preliminary players to watch list for the 2026 NHL Draft. He is committed to Penn State University (NCAA).

Otters Prospect Lyndon Cabral Named GOHL Prospect of the Week

Erie Otters prospect Lyndon Cabral of the Listowel Cyclones is the GOHL Prospect of the Week, scoring twice while adding four assists for six points over a pair of games.

Cabral connected for two goals, three assists and five points in Thursday’s 8-1 road win over the Sarnia Legionnaires. He chipped in with an assist on Listowel’s lone goal on Friday as the Cyclones fell 2-1 to the Elmira Sugar Kings.

A 16-year-old from Hanover, ON, Cabral sits second in Cyclones scoring with 14 points (6-8–14) over 16 games this season. The 5-foot-11, 176Ib. right-wing was Erie’s fourth round (81st overall) pick in 2025 from the OHL Cup finalist Don Mills Flyers AAA program. Cabral registered 52 points (25-27–52) over 33 regular season games with Don Mills last season before producing 12 points (5-7–12) over 11 playoff outings. He was a steady producer at the OHL Cup, recording 10 points (3-7–10) over seven games. Cabral made his OHL debut with the Otters on Oct. 5th at Kingston.

Wolves’ Kieron Walton Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Winnipeg Jets prospect Kieron Walton of the Sudbury Wolves is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, leading the league with eight points (3-5–8) over two victories.

The 6-foot-6 Walton kicked-off the weekend with a goal and two assists in Friday’s 5-3 win over the visiting Barrie Colts. He extended his point streak to six games with a season-high five points (2-3–5) on Sunday, helping Sudbury defeat the Peterborough Petes 8-2 on home ice.

A 19-year-old from Toronto, Walton leads the Wolves with 15 points (7-8–15) through his first eight games of the season. He produced 38 goals, 54 assists and 92 points in 66 games during the 2024-25 campaign, and owns career figures consisting of 71 goals, 92 assists and 163 points over 185 regular season games, all with Sudbury. Walton was selected by the Winnipeg Jets with their sixth round (187th overall) pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, and signed a three-year entry-level deal with the club on Apr. 7, 2025. The Wolves originally drafted Walton in the second round (28th overall) in 2022 from the North York Rangers AAA program.

Bulldogs’ Ryerson Leenders Named Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week

Buffalo Sabres prospect Ryerson Leenders of the Brantford Bulldogs is the Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week, going 2-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and .966 save percentage.

Leenders backstopped the Bulldogs to victory in Sarnia on Friday, turning aside 38-of-39 shots as Brantford won 3-1 despite being outshot 39-23. Leenders followed-up his first star effort with 18 more saves on Sunday night in Oshawa as the Bulldogs beat the Generals 4-1.

A 19-year-old from Nanticoke, ON, Leenders is 5-0-0-1 with a 2.31 goals-against average and .918 save percentage through six games this season. The fourth-year veteran owns a career mark of 72-46-10-1 with a 3.17 goals-against average and .903 save percentage with four shutouts over 135 regular season games between Brantford and Mississauga. Leenders was Buffalo’s seventh round (219th overall) pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. The 6-foot-1, 179Ib. netminder was originally chosen by the Mississauga Steelheads in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection. Internationally, Leenders has won gold with Canada at both the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup as well as the IIHF World Under-18 Hockey Championship.

Storm’s Jaakko Wycisk Named OHL Rookie of the Week

Guelph Storm forward Jaakko Wycisk is the OHL Rookie of the Week, scoring while recording three assists for four points over a pair of victories.

Wycisk turned in a first star performance on Friday night, scoring while adding two assists on goals by linemate Carter Stevens as the Storm defeated the Kingston Frontenacs 6-3 on home ice. He was back on the scoresheet on Sunday afternoon, seeing ice with the game on the line to record an assist on Noah Jenken’s third period game-winner as Guelph defeated the Ottawa 67’s 4-3.

A product of Tecumseh, ON, the 16-year-old Wycisk leads 2009-born OHL skaters with 13 points (6-7–13) through his first 13 games of the season. Selected by the Storm with the second overall pick of the 2025 OHL Priority Selection, Wycisk was last year’s ALLIANCE U16 Player of the Year, guiding the Sun County Panthers to a second straight league title with 61 points (32-29–61) through 30 games during the regular season and a further 13 points (6-7–13) over 10 playoff outings. Wycisk also saw six games of action with the OJHL’s Leamington Flyers in 2024-25. A prospect eligible for the 2027 NHL Draft, Wycisk has been selected to represent Canada White at the 2025 U17 World Hockey Challenge set to take place in Truro, Nova Scotia from November 2-8.

Spirit Prospect Gensen Geldart Named GOHL Prospect of the Week

Saginaw Spirit prospect Gensen Geldart of the Chatham Maroons is the GOHL Prospect of the Week, recording three goals, one assist and four points over a pair of victories.

Geldart lit the lamp for a hat-trick in Thursday’s 6-2 Maroons road win over the Sarnia Legionnaires, finding the back of the net in the first, second and third periods. He was back on the scoresheet with an assist on Sunday, helping Chatham defeat the visiting LaSalle Vipers 6-3.

A 16-year-old from Toronto, Geldart spent last season with the GTHL’s Vaughan Kings, recording seven points (1-6–7) over four games at the 2025 OHL Cup. The 6-foot-1, 173Ib. forward  has 10 points (4-6–10) through 14 games with Chatham and was chosen by the Spirit with their fourth round (75th overall) pick last spring. He won an OHL Cup silver medal as an underage player with Vaughan in 2024.

Bulldogs’ Adam Benak Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Minnesota Wild prospect Adam Benak of the Brantford Bulldogs is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, recording six points over a pair of wins against the Brampton Steelheads while also becoming the OHL’s leading scorer.

Benak recorded a goal and two assists, earning third star recognition as the Bulldogs beat the Steelheads 7-3 on Friday. He tacked on three assists Saturday afternoon, helping to power the Bulldogs past Brampton by a score of 9-3.

An 18-year-old from Plzen, Czechia, Benak leads the OHL with 19 points (5-14–19) over eight games. The 5-foot-8, 163Ib. centre has produced multi-point outputs in six of his eight games this season. Minnesota’s fourth round (102nd overall) pick in 2025, Benak was selected second overall by the Bulldogs in the 2025 CHL Import Draft after he produced 59 points (17-42–59) in 56 games with the USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms. Benak has enjoyed success internationally, winning back-to-back silver medals for Czechia at the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup held annually in August.

Sting’s Patrick Quinlan Named Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week

Sarnia Sting netminder Patrick Quinlan is the OHL Goaltender of the Week, going 1-0-1-0 with a 2.93 goals-against average and .920 save percentage as the Sting collected three of a possible four points against the first place Windsor Spitfires.

Quinlan earned first star honours on Friday night at home, making 27 saves as Sarnia fell 3-2 in overtime to Windsor. He backstopped the Sting to victory on Saturday in Windsor, making 42 saves in a 5-3 win as Sarnia was outshot 45-15.

An 18-year-old from Plymouth, Michigan, Quinlan is 2-1-2-0 with a 3.16 goals-against average and .901 save percentage through his first seven games of the season. The 6-foot, 188Ib. netminder spent 2024-25 with the U.S. National Development Program and also won bronze with the United States at the IIHF World Under-18 Hockey Championship. Quinlan was Sarnia’s eighth round (157th overall) pick in 2023 and is committed to the University of Notre Dame (NCAA).

Also considered for the award this week, Easton Rye of the Peterborough Petes went 2-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and .925 save percentage in wins over Oshawa and Ottawa.

Battalion’s Ryder Cali Named OHL Rookie of the Week

NHL Draft eligible North Bay Battalion forward Ryder Cali is the OHL Rookie of the Week, scoring three times while adding an assist over three contests.

Cali found the back of the net on Thanksgiving Monday in North Bay’s 6-4 loss to visiting Owen Sound. He contributed to a winning cause on Saturday in Barrie, recording the game-tying goal along with an assist as the Battalion beat the Colts 4-3. Cali was back in the goal column on Sunday at home, netting his seventh goal of the season before earning first star honours in a 3-2 shootout win over Barrie.

An 17-year-old from Penetanguishene, ON, Cali has seven goals, two assists and nine points through 11 games this season after appearing in five for the Troops in 2024-25. Originally Sault Ste. Marie’s first round (18th overall) pick in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection, the 6-foot-2, 209Ib. left-wing recorded 54 points (24-30–54) over 51 games with the OJHL’s Milton Menace in 2024-25. Cali was assigned a B rating by NHL Central Scouting in the preliminary players to watch list for the 2026 NHL Draft circulated on Monday.

Generals Prospect Reed Straus Named GOHL Prospect of the Week

Oshawa Generals prospect Reed Straus of the Elmira Sugar Kings is the GOHL Prospect of the Week, going 2-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and .962 save percentage.

Straus stopped 30 of the 31 shots he faced on Saturday in London, backstopping the Sugar Kings past the Nationals by a score of 2-1. He returned to the crease at home on Saturday, making 20 saves as Elmira defeated the Komoka Kings 2-1.

An 18-year-old from St. Clements, ON, Straus is 4-1 in his second season with Elmira, recording a 2.16 goals-against average and .913 save percentage through five appearances. The 5-foot-11, 180Ib. netminder went 8-7-0-1 with a 2.69 goals-against average and .900 save percentage in 19 games with the Sugar Kings in 2024-25. Straus was Oshawa’s second round (37th overall) pick in the 2024 OHL U18 Priority Selection from the Waterloo Wolves AAA program.

Bulldogs’ Jake O’Brien Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Seattle Kraken prospect Jake O’Brien of the Brantford Bulldogs is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, scoring four times while adding four assists as the Bulldogs went 3-0.

After being held off the scoresheet in Brantford’s 7-4 road win over the Niagara IceDogs on Thursday, O’Brien came up with a goal and two assists in the Bulldogs’ 6-0 blanking of the visiting Sudbury Wolves on Friday. Sunday saw O’Brien match a career high with five points including a hat-trick as the Bulldogs handed the Ottawa 67’s their first loss of the season in an 8-5 outcome. O’Brien earned first star honours in the win, finishing with a plus-4 rating.

An 18-year-old from Toronto, O’Brien sits second in OHL scoring with 13 points (5-8–13) through six games to go with a plus/minus rating of plus-11. The 6-foot-2, 177Ib. centre was selected by the Seattle Kraken with the eighth overall pick of the 2025 NHL Draft after posting 98 points (32-66–98) over 66 games in 2024-25. A former OHL Rookie of the Year Award recipient in 2023-24, O’Brien was originally the Bulldogs’ eighth overall pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection after he was named OHL Cup MVP for the victorious Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Internationally, O’Brien helped Canada win gold at the 2024 Hlinka-Gretzky Cup.

Firebirds’ Mason Vaccari Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Mason Vaccari of the Flint Firebirds is the Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week, posting back-to-back shutouts in victories over Kitchener and Oshawa.

Vaccari stopped all 46 shots sent his direction, making 20 of those saves on Wednesday as the Firebirds blanked the Kitchener Rangers by a score of 3-0. The overage netminder turned aside 26 more on Saturday, earning first star recognition in a second straight game as the Firebirds froze the Oshawa Generals in a 3-0 final.

A 20-year-old from Mississauga, Vaccari is 3-1-1-0 with a 2.75 goals-against average and .914 percentage through five gams to begin his fourth OHL season. The former CHL and OHL Humanitarian of the Year Award recipient in 2024 is a career 52-46-5-3 with a 3.42 goals-against average and .888 save percentage. Vaccari represented the Columbus Blue Jackets in this year’s Prospects Challenge held in Buffalo, NY. He was originally Kingston’s fourth round (61st overall) pick in 2021.

Knights’ Jaxon Cover Named OHL Rookie of the Week

NHL Draft eligible London Knights forward Jaxon Cover is the OHL Rookie of the Week, producing a goal and three assists over a pair of victories.

Cover recorded a goal and an assist in London’s 6-1 win over the Erie Otters on Friday night, returning a night later to chip in with two assists as the Knights beat the Sarnia Sting 5-4 in overtime.

An 17-year-old from Grand Cayman, Cover has five points (3-2–5) through his first seven games of the season. The 6-foot-1, 185Ib. left-wing appeared in three games with London in 2024-25, recording a pair of assists while spending most of the season at St. Andrew’s College where he produced 40 points (21-19–40) over 55 games. The Knights selected Cover in the fourth round (64th overall) of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection.

Niagara IceDogs prospect Caden Bell of the St. Catharines Falcons is the GOHL Prospect of the Week, recording three goals, two assists and five points across three victories.

Bell chipped in an assist in St. Catharines’ 6-1 win over the Caledon Bombers on Tuesday before putting together his best GOHL performance to date on Friday, scoring a pair of power play goals while adding an assist in a 5-3 win over the Port Colborne Sailors. Bell rounded-out the week by extending his point streak to five games on Sunday, scoring in St. Catharines’ 6-2 win over the Welland Jr. Canadians.

Niagara’s third round (49th overall) pick in 2025, Bell sits second among GOHL rookie defencemen with 11 points (5-6–11) in as many games. The 5-foot-11, 165Ib. right-shot defender was an OHL Cup finalist as a member of the Don Mills Flyers AAA program in 2024-25, being named to the tournament all-star team with eight points (4-4–8) in the seven game showcase. Bell produced 20 points (10-19–29) over 32 games in his U16 AAA season.

Colts’ Kashawn Aitcheson named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

New York Islanders prospect Kashawn Aitcheson of the Barrie Colts is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, scoring five goals and adding an assist for six points over three contests.

Aitcheson began the week with his first goal of the season in Thursday’s 5-4 shootout loss to the visiting Soo Greyhounds. He enjoyed his most productive showing of the season thus far on Saturday, scoring twice while adding an assist as the Colts beat the Oshawa Generals 5-3 on home ice. Aitcheson closed-out the weekend with a second-straight two-goal performance on Sunday, helping Barrie overcome a 5-1 third period deficit with a pair of tallies in a 6-5 shootout win in Niagara.

A 6-foot-1, 198Ib., 19-year-old defenceman from Toronto, Aitcheson has eight points (5-3–8) through his first six games to begin 2025-26 after recording 59 points (26-33–59) over 64 games last season. His 26 goals set a new Barrie Colts single season record by a defenceman. Originally Barrie’s third round (50th overall) pick in 2022, Aitcheson has collected 109 points (40-69–109) over 157 career regular season games with Barrie, adding 16 points (7-9–16) in 26 career playoff contests. He was a first round (17th overall) pick by the New York Islanders at the 2025 NHL Draft. Internationally, Aitcheson is a former World Under-18 Hockey Challenge gold medalist as a member of Team Canada in 2024.

Frontenacs’ Gavin Betts named Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week

2026 NHL Draft prospect Gavin Betts of the Kingston Frontenacs is the Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week, going 2-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average, a .960 save percentage and one shutout.

Betts turned aside 21-of-23 shots in Friday’s 5-2 win over the visiting Oshawa Generals before recording his first career OHL shutout on Sunday afternoon, making 27 saves as the Fronts blanked the Erie Otters 1-0 behind Kieren Dervin’s third period goal. Betts earned first star honours in the win, helping the Frontenacs improve to 4-1-0-1.

A 17-year-old from Toronto, Betts is 3-1-0-1 with a 2.75 goals-against average and .903 save percentage through five games to begin the 2025-26 season. He appeared in nine contests for Kingston in 2024-25, going 5-4 with a 3.44 goals-against average and .876 save percentage, spending the rest of his 16-year-old campaign with the OJHL’s Pickering Panthers where he was 7-7-2 with a 3.07 goals-against average and .920 save percentage over 18 appearances. Kingston’s second round (37th overall) pick in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection, Betts won World Under-17 Hockey Challenge gold with Team Canada White last fall. He claimed bronze with Canada at August’s Hlinka-Gretzky Cup, posting a 1.68 goals-against average, .933 save percentage and two shutouts over five games.

Spirit’s Nikita Klepov named OHL Rookie of the Week

2026 NHL Draft prospect Nikita Klepov of the Saginaw Spirit is the OHL Rookie of the Week, recording five points over three road games.

Klepov started the week with a shorthanded goal on Friday night in Guelph as the Spirit fell 3-2 in overtime. He had the most productive performance of his young OHL career on Saturday in Owen Sound, scoring twice while adding two assists as the Spirit defeated the Attack 7-5.

A 17-year-old from Deerfield Beach, Florida, Klepov leads OHL rookies with 11 points (7-4–11) over seven games since coming over from the USHL’s Sioux City Musketeers where he produced 31 points (12-19–21) over 59 games in 2024-25. The Spirit selected Klepov 35th overall in the 2025 CHL Import Draft. The 6-foot, 180Ib. left-shot winger won Hlinka Gretzky Cup gold with the United States in August, recording six points (1-5–6) in five games. Klepov is committed to Michigan State University (NCAA).

Firebirds prospect Liam Edgcumbe named GOHL Prospect of the Week

Flint Firebirds prospect Liam Edgcumbe of the Pelham Panthers is the GOHL Prospect of the Week, stopping all 67 shots sent his direction in back-to-back shutouts.

After winning his GOHL debut on September 19th, Edgcumbe was flawless in Thursday’s 2-0 road win over the Hamilton Kilty B’s, making 44 saves at Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena. He was back in the crease on Friday at home, denying 23 Welland Jr. Canadians shots in a 3-0 victory.

A 6-foot-4, 175Ib. 17-year-old from Grimsby, ON, Edgcumbe was selected by Flint in the eighth round of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection from the Niagara North Stars AAA program. In 13 games with the PJHL’s Niagara Riverhawks last season, Edgcumbe played to a mark of 9-2-2 with a 2.39 goals-against average and .935 save percentage.

IceDogs’ Ethan Czata named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Ethan Czata of the Niagara IceDogs is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, recording five points over a pair of road wins.

Czata returned from Lightning training camp to help the IceDogs defeat the Saginaw Spirit 5-4 in a shootout on Friday night, recording an assist before scoring twice in a span of 2:29 to close-out the second period. He’d convert in the shootout to help Niagara pick-up two points before factoring into another win on Saturday, registering a goal and an assist as the IceDogs blanked the Flint Firebirds 4-0.

An 18-year-old from Brampton, Czata returns for his third season in Niagara coming-off 21 goals, 34 assists and 55 points over 68 games in 2024-25. Internationally, he’s helped Canada win gold at both the World U18 Hockey Championship and Hlinka-Gretzky Cup as well as the World U17 Hockey Challenge. Czata was chosen by Tampa Bay in the second round (56th overall) this past summer and signed an entry-level deal with the Lightning on July 22nd. He was originally Niagara’s first round (fifth overall) pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection.

Also considered for the award this week, Soo Greyhounds forward Jordan Charron recorded six points (4-2–6) over three games as the Hounds won a pair of games on the road.

Spitfires’ Joey Costanzo named Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week

Joey Costanzo of the Windsor Spitfires is the Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week, going 2-0 with a 0.50 goals-against average, a .980 save percentage and one shutout.

Costanzo turned in a 17-save shutout on Thursday as the Spitfires defeated the Sudbury Wolves 4-0 at the WFCU Centre. He was back in the crease on Saturday night in Barrie, earning second star honours with 31 saves as the Spitfires defeated the Colts 3-1. Barrie outshot Windsor 20-3 in the third period, with Costanzo turning aside 19 of those attempts.

A 20-year-old from Toronto, Costanzo is embarking on this fifth OHL season, coming off a 2024-25 campaign that saw him go 34-10-3-1 with a 2.94 goals-against average and .892 save percentage over 51 games. His 73 career wins as a Spitfire are the third-most in franchise history behind Michael DiPietro and Andrew Engelage. Costanzo recently attended Philadelphia Flyers training camp. He was Niagara’s second round (23rd overall) pick in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection.

Bulldogs’ Caleb Malhotra named OHL Rookie of the Week

NHL Draft eligible Brantford Bulldogs forward Caleb Malhotra is the OHL Rookie of the Week, recording five points in Saturday’s 7-2 win over the Sudbury Wolves.

Malhotra teamed-up with fellow newcomer Cooper Dennis at the TD Civic Centre, scoring twice while adding three assists as the Bulldogs beat Sudbury to improve to 2-0-1-0 on the season. The 6-foot-2, 182Ib. centreman scored the deciding goal on the power play with 2:55 remaining in the second period and would later set up Adam Benak’s first OHL goal on the penalty kill late in the third.

Malhotra, from Toronto, is Brantford’s early-season scoring leader with eight points (3-5–8) through his first three games. The Bulldogs acquired Malhotra from the Kingston Frontenacs in a trade on Sept. 12, 2024 after he was originally selected eighth overall by Kingston in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection. Malhotra spent 2024-25 with the BCHL’s Chilliwack Chiefs, producing 26 points (8-18–26) over 44 games. The Vaughan Kings AAA graduate is committed to Boston University (NCAA).

Rangers prospect Alex Forrest named GOHL Prospect of the Week

Kitchener Rangers defence prospect Alex Forrest of the Cambridge RedHawks is the GOHL Prospect of the Week, recording five points over his first two games in the GOHL.

The 16-year-old defenceman found the back of the net in his GOHL debut on Thursday, helping the RedHawks defeat the host Ayr Centennials 7-3. He helped Cambridge hang-up a crooked number at home against the Welland Jr. Canadians on Saturday, posting four assists in a 15-2 triumph as the RedHawks improved to a perfect 6-0 to start the year.

A native of Grimsby, ON, Forrest was chosen by the Rangers with the second round (24th overall) pick of the 2025 OHL Priority Selection. The 5-foot-11, 157Ib. left-shot blueliner recorded one assist over five preseason games with Kitchener and appeared in the club’s first two games of the regular season. He registered 39 points (10-29–39) over 34 games with the OMHA’s Oakville Rangers U16 AAA team last season, before joining the GOHL’s St. Catharines Falcons to post four points (1-3–4) over 13 games during their playoff run last spring.

Spitfires’ Cole Davis named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Windsor Spitfires forward Cole Davis is the inaugural 2025-26 recipient of Cogeco OHL Player of the Week honours, recording four goals, two assists and six points over a pair of victories.

Three of Davis’ four goals came shorthanded, putting home a pair on Friday night in Sarnia as he posted a career-high five points (3-2—5) in an 8-1 win over the Sting. His two shorthanded markers tied a Spitfires single game franchise mark, joining such names as Matthew Maggio and Eric Locke in the record book. Davis scored another shorthanded marker in Saturday’s 4-1 win over the visiting London Knights.

A 19-year-old from Sutton, ON, Davis is into his third full OHL season after collecting 45 points (21-24—45) over 57 games in 2024-25. The 5-foot-10, 184Ib. winger saw full-time duty at centre in his first two games of this season. Formerly a fourth round (65th overall) pick by the Spitfires in 2022, Davis has collected 94 points (46-48—94) over his 127 career regular season games.


Rangers’ Jason Schaubel named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Kitchener Rangers netminder Jason Schaubel is the Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week, going 2-0 with a 1.99 goals-against average and .938 save percentage.

Schaubel helped the Rangers rebound from a 3-0 deficit against the Brantford Bulldogs in their home opener, providing 32 saves as Kitchener rallied for four unanswered in a 4-3 overtime win. He returned to the crease Saturday night, making 29 saves as Kitchener beat the Erie Otters 3-1 despite being outshot 30-18. Schaubel earned second star recognition in the win.

A 17-year-old from Barrie, ON, Schaubel is embarking on his second OHL season after going 10-3-1-2 with a 3.40 goals-against average and .878 save percentage in 2024-25. The 6-foot, 185Ib. NHL Draft eligible netminder was Kitchener’s fifth round (97th overall) pick in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection from the Barrie Colts U16 AAA program. Schaubel represented Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup this past summer, earning a bronze medal.


67’s’ Thomas Vandenberg named OHL Rookie of the Week

Ottawa 67’s forward Thomas Vandenberg is the OHL Rookie of the Week, producing three goals and an assist in his OHL debut Friday night in Kingston.

Vandenberg turned in an unforgettable OHL debut, earning first star honours with a hat-trick and one assist as the 67’s beat the Kingston Frontenacs 6-2. Vandenberg opened the scoring 2:17 into action, scored an unassisted second period goal and capped-off the hat-trick 5:10 into the third frame.

A 17-year-old from Nepean, ON, Vandenberg comes to the OHL having spent last season with the USHL’s Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, producing 18 points (9-9—18) over 55 games. The former fifth round (93rd overall) pick by Ottawa in 2024 is committed to Providence College (NCAA). The NHL Draft eligible Vandenberg is a product of the Ottawa Myers Automotive AAA program where he won an HEO U16 AAA championship in 2024.


Knights prospect Brendan Gerber named inaugural GOJHL Prospect of the Week

London Knights prospect Brendan Gerber of the Elmira Sugar Kings is the inaugural recipient of GOJHL Prospect of the Week honours, producing 11 points (3-8—11) over his first four games of the season.

As part of a new development partnership between the two leagues, the OHL will recognize a top performing prospect from across the GOJHL each week.

Gerber has strung together four straight multi-point outings, helping the Sugar Kings get off to a 3-1 start to the season. He opened the campaign with three assists in a 6-0 road win over the Listowel Cyclones on Sept. 12th, followed-up by two goals in Elmira’s home opener, a 4-1 win over Listowel on Sept. 14th. Gerber comes off a productive weekend that saw him collect three assists in a 6-5 loss to the Komoka Kings on Saturday followed by a goal and two helpers in Sunday’s 9-0 home win over the Strathroy Rockets.

An 18-year-old from New Hamburg, ON, Gerber played in six games with the London Knights last season, scoring his first OHL goal on March 12th in Guelph. The 5-foot-9, 185Ib. forward was selected by the Knights in the sixth round (104th overall) of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection from the Waterloo Wolves U16 AAA program. Gerber has played in 93 career GOJHL contests between the Sugar Kings and Strathroy Rockets, collecting 115 points (58-57—115) along the way.

Knights’ Easton Cowan Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan of the London Knights is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, recording two goals, three assists and five points in two contests.

Cowan helped the Knights bounce back from a Game 1 loss to the Oshawa Generals with a five-point performance on Saturday, scoring twice and adding three assists in a 5-2 win. The first star effort tied him for the franchise record for most playoff points in Knights history with 89. His second career five-point effort in an OHL Championship Final contest makes him the latest player to do so since Mark Scheifele of the 2013 Barrie Colts.

A soon-to-be 20-year-old from Mount Brydges, Ont., the 2024 Red Tilson Trophy winner sits second among all post-season scorers with 32 points (10-22-32) in 14 games. Cowan recorded 69 points (29-40-69) in 46 regular season games and has totaled 220 points (84-136-220) over 175 career regular season contests. Originally selected 25th overall by the Knights in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection, the 2024 OHL champion has added 89 points (29-60-89) in 57 career playoff games. Cowan was the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 28th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Knights’ Austin Elliott Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Austin Elliott of the London Knights is the OHL Goaltender of the Week for the fourth time this season, playing to a 1-1 record along with a 2.54 goals-against average and .914 save percentage.

Elliott made 53 saves over two games in the OHL Championship Series last week, splitting the series 1-1. He stopped 22 of 25 shots in a 4-2 loss to Oshawa on Thursday, marking his first playoff loss and first defeat since February 2nd. The 6-foot-1, 189lb. goaltender bounced back on Saturday, turning aside 31 shots to earn third star honours in a 5-2 win to even the series.

A soon-to-be 21-year-old from Strathmore, Alberta, Elliott posted an outstanding regular season with a 32-1-0-0 record, three shutouts, a 2.10 goals-against average, and a .924 save percentage. He’s remained nearly perfect in the playoffs, going 13-1 with one shutout, a 2.34 goals-against average, and a .906 save percentage. The Knights acquired the overage netminder from the Barrie Colts, who had claimed him off CHL waivers in early October. Elliott joined the OHL after beginning his junior career with the WHL’s Saskatoon Blades.

Knights’ Noah Read Named OHL Rookie of the Week

NHL Draft eligible London Knights forward Noah Read is the OHL Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, registering an assist in two games played.

Read tallied a helper to earn third star honours on Thursday night as the London Knights fell 4-2 to the Oshawa Generals in Game 1 of the OHL Championship Series. Read helped the Knights open the scoring, setting up linemate Rene Van Bommel for the opening goal of the series.

Selected by London in the 10th round (188th overall) of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection from the Southern Tier Admirals U16 AAA program, the St. Catharines, Ont. native registered 10 goals, 16 assists, and 26 points in 45 regular season contests. In 14 post-season matchups, the 18-year-old has recorded four goals, two assists and six points. He spent the 2023-24 season with the St. Catharines Falcons of the GOJHL, tallying 38 points in 48 games played.

Generals’ Luca Marrelli Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Luca Marrelli of the Oshawa Generals is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, registering a goal, six assists and seven points over two games played.

Helping the Generals secure their second straight trip to the OHL Championship Series, Marrelli recorded two assists in Tuesday’s 7-6 double-overtime win over the Barrie Colts. He followed up with a standout performance on Thursday, notching a goal and four assists to earn first star honours in an 8-4 victory.

A 19-year-old from Toronto, Ont., Marrelli racked up 74 points (19-55–74) in 67 games this season. Selected by Oshawa in the fifth round (81st overall) of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection, the 6-foot-2, 185 lb. defenceman has totaled 171 points (30-141–171) over 254 career regular season games. Leading all OHL scorers in the postseason, he’s recorded six goals, 25 assists, and 31 points through 16 games in the 2025 OHL Playoffs, establishing a new Generals playoff record by a defender. Marrelli was selected in the third round (86th overall) by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2024 NHL Draft and signed an entry-level contract with the club on December 11, 2024.

Also considered for this week’s award, Generals teammates in Anaheim Ducks prospect Beckett Sennecke (1-6-7) and 2025 NHL Draft-eligible forward Owen Griffin (3-2-5) helped Oshawa secure the Eastern Conference crown.

Knights’ Austin Elliott Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Austin Elliott of the London Knights is the OHL Goaltender of the Week for the third time this season, playing to a 2-0 record along with a 2.00 goals-against average and .920 save percentage.

Backstopping the Knights to their third consecutive OHL Championship Series appearance, Elliott made a total of 46 saves last week. He stopped 21 of the 23 shots he faced on Monday in a 3-2 win over the Kitchener Rangers. The 6-foot-1, 189lb. netminder returned between the pipes on Wednesday, making 25 saves in a 4-2 victory to help the Knights clinch the Wayne Gretzky Trophy as Western Conference champions.

A 20-year-old from Strathmore, Alberta, Elliott posted an outstanding regular season with a 32-1-0-0 record, three shutouts, a 2.10 goals-against average, and a .924 save percentage. He’s remained perfect in the playoffs, going 12-0 with one shutout, a 2.31 goals-against average, and a .904 save percentage. The Knights acquired the overage netminder from the Barrie Colts, who had claimed him off CHL waivers in early October. Elliott joined the OHL after beginning his junior career with the WHL’s Saskatoon Blades.

Rangers’ Cameron Arquette Named OHL Rookie of the Week

Cameron Arquette of the Kitchener Rangers is the OHL Rookie of the Week, registering a goal and an assist across two games played.

Arquette recorded a goal and an assist to earn second star honours in Monday’s Game 3 of the West Final, despite the Rangers falling 3-2 to the London Knights.

Selected by Kitchener in the fourth round (71st overall) of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection from the Sun County Panthers U16 AAA program, the 18-year-old from Wheatley, Ont. suited up in 53 regular season games with the Rangers this year, registering eight goals and seven assists for 15 points. He spent the 2023-24 campaign with the OJHL’s Leamington Flyers, where he tallied 43 points (15-28–43) in 45 games. Despite Kitchener’s Western Conference playoff exit against the Knights, Arquette appeared in 16 postseason contests, contributing one goal and four assists.

Generals’ Beckett Sennecke Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Anaheim Ducks prospect Beckett Sennecke of the Oshawa Generals is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week for the second time this season, registering three goals, two assists and five points over two games played.

Helping the Generals take a 2-0 series lead over the Barrie Colts in the Eastern Conference Final, Sennecke registered an assist in Friday’s 3-1 victory. He found the scoresheet again on Sunday, recording his first OHL playoff hat trick and adding an assist to earn first star honours in a dominant 7-1 victory over the Colts.

A 19-year-old from Toronto, Ont., Sennecke tallied 86 points (36-50-86) in 56 games this season. Selected eighth overall by Oshawa in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, the 6-foot-4, 195lb. right-winger has recorded 209 points (83-126–209) in 180 career regular season games. He has registered 11 goals and nine assists in 11 games throughout the 2025 OHL Playoffs, ranking third among all goal-scorers. Sennecke was selected third overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Also considered for this week’s award, London’s Jacob Julien (Winnipeg Jets) and Sam Dickinson (San Jose Sharks) helped the Knights take a 2-0 lead over the Kitchener Rangers in the Western Conference Final, each recording a pair of goals and three assists.

Generals’ Jacob Oster Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Jacob Oster of the Oshawa Generals is the OHL Goaltender of the Week, going 2-0 along with a 1.00 goals-against average, and a .967 save percentage.

Backstopping the Generals to a 2-0 series lead over the Barrie Colts in the Eastern Conference Final, Oster stopped 58 shots last week. He turned aside 27 of 28 attempts on Friday, earning third star honours in a 3-1 win. Oster was solid again on Sunday, making 31 saves in a 7-1 victory.

A 21-year-old from Ottawa, Ont., Oster posted a 32-17-3-1 record this season, including three shutouts, along with a 2.81 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage. The former fifth-round pick (92nd overall) by the Guelph Storm in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection is now in his fourth OHL season, boasting a career record of 100-64-15-5 with a 3.15 goals-against average, a .895 save percentage, and nine shutouts over 196 regular season games split between the Storm and the Generals. He ranks fourth among all OHL goaltenders in 2025 playoff goals-against average, playing to a 10-4 record with a 2.60 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage. Oster was awarded 2024 OHL Goaltender of the Year honours and was named to the OHL First All-Star Team.

Helping the Oshawa Generals take a 2-0 series lead over the Barrie Colts in the Eastern Conference Final, Wang registered an assist off a key block in Game 1, contributing to a 3-1 win on Friday night.

Selected by Oshawa in the fifth round (83rd overall) of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection from the North York Rangers U16 AAA program, the 17-year-old defenceman appeared in 32 regular season games with the Generals this season, recording two assists. He spent the majority of the 2024-25 campaign with the OJHL’s King Rebellion, posting four goals, 18 assists, and 22 points in 38 games. The 6-foot-6, 210lb. blueliner was recently ranked 34th overall on NHL Central Scouting’s Final Draft Rankings ahead of the 2025 NHL Draft. Born in Beijing, Wang is committed to NCAA Division I Boston University.
