I wonder, sometimes out loud, how things might be different had the Ontario Hockey League had played last season? There are players passed over from the 2020 National Hockey League Draft that didn’t get a look from NHL scouts in 2021 because, well they couldn’t give them a look. And now some of those players are taking the OHL by storm.
As I have done for several years now, I look at the draft eligible statistical leaders in several categories from month to month. I usually only look at players entering the NHL Draft for the first time. However, with the number of players re-entering the draft, I have combined them all. That said, I am only including those re-entering that could have been selected in 2021 but were passed over. There are a few re-entering the draft class that were passed over in 2020 and 2021, but I am not including them.
