OHL ANNOUNCES TOP PERFORMERS OF THE MONTH FOR DECEMBER

TORONTO (Thursday, January 1, 2026) – The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) today announced Top Performers of the Month for December.

Player of the Month – Riley Patterson (Niagara IceDogs) – 11 GP, 9G, 10A, 19 PTS., +7
Leading the OHL with 19 points (9-10–19) over 11 games during the month of December, Vancouver Canucks prospect Riley Patterson of the Niagara IceDogs is the OHL Player of the Month. Patterson’s month featured seven different multi-point efforts, including a pair of overtime game-winners. He started things off with three points (1-2–3) on Dec. 5th at Brampton, scored 1:31 into overtime on Dec. 7th vs. North Bay, and registered his first of two two-goal efforts on Dec. 18th at Peterborough. His second included another overtime game-winner on Dec. 20th at home to the Sarnia Sting. Patterson put together another three-point outing (1-2–3) on Dec. 29th at Brampton as the IceDogs won by a score of 4-3.

A 19-year-old from Burlington, ON, Patterson sits fifth in OHL scoring with 45 points (21-24–45) over 33 games in this, his fourth OHL season. Acquired from the Barrie Colts last summer, Patterson has produced 166 points (75-91–166) over 165 career regular season games after entering the league as Flint’s third round (57th overall) pick in 2022. He was selected by Vancouver in the fourth round (125th overall) of the 2024 NHL Draft, and signed a three-year entry-level NHL contract with Vancouver on Sept. 21, 2025. Patterson is a former OHL Cup champion, winning as a member of the GTHL’s Mississauga Senators in 2022. Patterson also holds the distinction of being a former OJHL and CJHL Rookie of the Year, producing 73 points (30-43–73) over 52 games during the 2022-23 season with the North York Rangers.

Defenceman of the Month – Anthony Cristoforo (Windsor Spitfires) – 8 GP, 6G, 6A, 12 PTS., +8
Anthony Cristoforo of the Windsor Spitfires is the OHL Defenceman of the Month, producing 12 points (6-6–12) over eight games accompanied by a plus-8 rating. The fourth-year veteran had a point in all eight of his December outings, highlighted by a four-point effort (3-1–4) on Dec. 18th vs. Sault Ste. Marie, a game he happened to see some assignments up on the Spitfires’ forward ranks. He also put together a two-goal performance on Dec. 11th at Peterborough as the Spitfires won 6-3.

A 19-year-old from Woodbridge, ON, Cristoforo has produced at over a point-per-game in 2025-26, recording 33 points (10-23–33) over 30 contests with a plus-14 rating. The 6-foot, 180Ib. right-shot blueliner sits fifth in all-time points by a Spitfires defenceman with 172 (35-137–172) over 224 career regular season contests. Cristoforo was a first round (22nd overall) pick by Windsor in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection.

Goaltender of the Month – Ben Hrebik (Barrie Colts) – 7 GP, 5-2-0-0, 1.86 GAA, .950 SV%, 246 SV
Kept busy during the month of December, Ben Hrebik of the Barrie Colts is the OHL Goaltender of the Month for a second straight month, going 5-2 with a 1.86 goals-against average and .950 save percentage while making 246 saves. Hrebik faced 40 or more shots four different times in December, winning in three of those four instances. He turned aside 39-of-40 shots on Dec. 6th in a 2-1 win at Kingston, made 42 saves on Dec. 13th as the Colts defeated the visiting Niagara IceDogs 2-1, and made an additional 45 saves on Dec. 28th as Barrie beat the North Bay Battalion 3-1 on the road.

A 19-year-old from Milton, ON, Hrebik has been the OHL’s busiest goaltender, making a league-leading 881 saves, resulting in an impressive .930 save percentage to go with a 2.61 goals-against average and 14-7-1-3 record over 25 games. The 6-foot-3, 204Ib. goaltender is in his second full OHL season after going 21-9-2-0 with a 2.87 goals-against average and .920 save percentage over 34 games in 2024-25. The Colts selected Hrebik in the ninth round (173rd overall) of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection.

Rookie of the Month – Caleb Malhotra (Brantford Bulldogs) – 10 GP, 7G, 9A, 16 PTS., +6
Brantford Bulldogs centreman Caleb Malhotra is the OHL Rookie of the Month, producing 16 points (7-9–16) over 10 games accompanied by a plus/minus rating of plus-6. With the absence of teammates Jett Luchanko (Canada) and Adam Benak (Czechia) at the World Juniors, Malhotra was thrust into an elevated role and excelled, helping Brantford continue its strong first half, playing to a record of 25-6-4-1. The 6-foot-2, 182Ib. pivot recorded points in nine of his 10 December outings, headlined by three points (1-2–3) on Dec. 6th in a 7-2 win vs. North Bay. Malhotra scored twice on Dec. 19th in Kingston, netting the game-winner in a 4-2 triumph over the Frontenacs. He earned first star honours in Wednesday’s 5-2 win over the Erie Otters, recording a goal and an assist.

A 17-year-old from Toronto, Malhotra leads OHL rookies with 48 points (18-30–48) over 35 games. The son of former OHL and NHL forward Manny Malhotra was originally selected by the Kingston Frontenacs in the first round (8th overall) of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection, and was acquired by the Bulldogs on Sept. 12, 2024. He captained Team CHL in this year’s CHL/USA Prospects Challenge, and will represent the Western Conference in the 2026 Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game on Jan. 14th. Malhotra is an A-rated prospect for the 2026 NHL Draft. He is committed to Boston University (NCAA).

TORONTO (Thursday, January 1, 2026) – The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) today announced the sixth edition of the OHL Cup Top-10 Rankings for the 2025-26 season, with the ALLIANCE’s London Jr. Knights surging up three spots to third following their Toronto Marlboros Holiday Classic championship title this past week. Other climbers include the tournament finalist Toronto Marlboros who are up to fourth, Hill Academy who is back up to sixth and the OMHA’s Ajax-Pickering Raiders who make their first appearance on the list this season.

The weekly rankings, determined by a panel of scouts from OHL member teams, highlight the top teams competing for an opportunity to play in the 2026 OHL Cup hosted by the GTHL, which will showcase 25 teams featuring talent eligible for the OHL Priority Selection that will take place at Slush Puppie Place in Kingston on June 12-13, 2026.

2025-26 CHL Top-10 Rankings presented by Delta Hotels by Marriott: Silvertips Stay No. 1 After Record First Half as Chicoutimi Climbs to No. 2, Brantford Holds Top-3 Spot; Ottawa and Flint Surge into Break

TORONTO, ON – The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) today unveiled its Week 14 edition of the CHL Top-10 Rankings presented by Delta Hotels by Marriott for the 2025-26 season.

For the second straight week, the Everett Silvertips (27-3-2-1) sit atop the CHL Top 10 and head into the holiday break on a seven-game winning streak after posting the best first half in franchise history. Everett matched a franchise record with 27 wins before the break and set a new club standard with 57 points over the season’s first half, continuing to set the pace across the CHL. The Chicoutimi Saguenéens (22-5-3-2) climb to a season-high No. 2 and enter the break as the top-ranked QMJHL club on an eight-game point streak, bolstering an already potent lineup with recent additions that include Utah Mammoth prospect Tomas Lavoie. The Brantford Bulldogs (23-5-4-1) slide one spot to No. 3 but remain firmly among the CHL’s elite, leading the OHL with a .773 points percentage, 154 goals, and a 36.6% power play through the season’s first half.

Further down the list, the Ottawa 67’s (25-7-1-1) and Flint Firebirds (24-7-2-2) continue their upward trajectory, each trending at the right time heading into the break. Ottawa climbs again on the strength of a six-game winning streak, highlighted by a statement 6-0 win over No. 3 Brantford, while also owning the CHL’s stingiest defensive record to date. Flint rises to a season-high position, riding a seven-game point streak and staying level with Ottawa atop the OHL standings — setting up a compelling second-half race as both clubs look to keep building momentum when play resumes.

Wolves’ Alex Pharand Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Sudbury Wolves forward Alex Pharand is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, scoring five times while adding an assist over a pair of victories.

Pharand scored a pair of first period goals in Sudbury’s 4-1 road win over the Barrie Colts on Thursday. He starred in a second straight game on Friday, scoring three times while adding an assist in a 6-2 win over the Guelph Storm on home ice. He finished with a plus-5 rating in the Wolves’ fourth straight win.

A 20-year-old from Sudbury, Pharand has eight goals, 14 assists and 22 points over 33 games in his fifth OHL season. The former first round (14th overall) pick by the Hamilton Bulldogs in 2021 has collected 66 goals, 98 assists and 164 points over 289 career regular season games spent between the Wolves and the Bulldogs. The 6-foot-3, 198Ib. right win was a fourth round (99th overall) pick by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2023, but went unsigned. Pharand’s international experience includes a bronze medal won with Canada at the 2023 IIHF World Under-18 Hockey Championship.

67’s’ Ryder Fetterolf Named Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week

Ottawa 67’s netminder Ryder Fetterolf is the Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week, going 2-0 with a 0.50 goals-against average, .979 save percentage and one shutout.

Fetterolf’s impressive first half drew to a close with wins over Peterborough and Brantford. He turned aside 27-of-28 at home on Friday, carrying a shutout into the final two minutes of the third period as the 67’s beat the Petes 4-1. He helped send the 67’s into the holiday break on a six-game winning streak on Saturday, making 19 saves for his third shutout of the season as Ottawa claimed first place in the OHL standings with a 6-0 win over Brantford.

A 17-year-old from Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Fetterolf owns a record of 17-3-1-0 with a league-low 1.93 goals-against average and .928 save percentage with three shutouts over 21 contests. His first half has included OHL Rookie of the Month honours for November, along with OHL Rookie of the Week recognition two different times. The NHL Draft eligible Fetterolf was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Gilmour Academy where he excelled in their prep hockey program last season. He is committed to Penn State University (NCAA).

Knights’ Caleb Mitchell Named OHL Rookie of the Week

London Knights defenceman Caleb Mitchell is the OHL Rookie of the Week, producing a goal and three assists over three wins to close out the first half.

Mitchell pitched in with a pair of assists on Wednesday night in Owen Sound, helping the Knights defeat the Attack 5-4 in overtime. He was back on the scoresheet Saturday night, scoring while adding an assist in a 4-0 road win over the Barrie Colts.

A 17-year-old from Omemee, ON, Mitchell has 11 points (2-9–11) over 27 games in his first OHL season. The 5-foot-11, 180Ib. left shot defenceman was chosen by the Knights in the second round (39th overall) of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection from the Peterborough Petes AAA program. Mitchell spent the 2024-25 season with the GOHL’s London Nationals, recording 28 points (9-19–28) over 34 games. He also won World Under-17 Challenge gold as a member of Team Canada White.

Attack Prospect Alexander Lisi Named GOHL Prospect of the Week

Owen Sound Attack prospect Alexander Lisi of the Chatham Maroons is the GOHL Prospect of the Week, recording a goal and four assists, along with a shootout game-winner over a pair of victories.

Lisi tallied a season-high five points (1-4–5) in Friday’s 8-4 road win over the Waterloo Siskins. He emerged as the shootout hero in the back half of the home-and-home on Sunday, scoring a beautiful shootout winner as the Maroons beat the Siskins 2-1, sending them into the holidays atop the Western Conference with a 24-5-1-2 record.

A 16-year-old from Tecumseh, ON, Lisi has 12 goals, 18 assists and 30 points over 32 games in his first GOHL season. The 6-foot, 183Ib. forward was Owen Sound’s seventh round (128th overall) pick in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection from the ALLIANCE champion Sun County Panthers. He’ll represent Team Scheifele in the 2026 GOHL Top Prospects Game presented by Milk on Tuesday, January 13th in Peterborough.

More than 200 OHL Cup graduates have advanced to play in the OHL en route to the National Hockey League (NHL), including more than 110 players currently on NHL rosters.

Rankings will be updated weekly throughout the season as teams compete for positioning ahead of the 2026 OHL Cup tournament. More information on tournament qualification can be found here.

TORONTO, ON – The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) today unveiled its Week 13 edition of the CHL Top-10 Rankings presented by Delta Hotels by Marriott for the 2025-26 season.

Everett has seized the No. 1 spot in the CHL Top-10 Rankings for the first time this season, as the Silvertips (25-3-2-1) have surged to the top on the strength of a five-game winning streak — and nine victories in their last 10 outings — while becoming the CHL’s first club to hit the 25-win mark in 2025-26. Brantford (23-3-4-1) slides to No. 2 after a 2-1-0 week ended its ten-week run at No. 1, while the Prince Albert Raiders (22-4-4-0) continue their ascent back into the top three at No. 3, riding a five-game win streak that included a perfect 3-0-0 week and reinforced by Monday’s addition of Dallas Stars prospect Brandon Gorzynski from Calgary.

Elsewhere, the climb continues for a trio of clubs gaining steam, led by the Chicoutimi Saguenéens (20-5-3-2), who move up to No. 4 after earning five of a possible six points last week and extending their point streak to six games (4-0-2-0). The Flint Firebirds (22-7-2-2) are trending up as well, jumping back into eighth after collecting five of six points (2-0-1-0) behind explosive offence and steady goaltending from Mason Vaccari, who now shares the CHL lead with 18 wins. And rounding out the risers, the defending WHL champion Medicine Hat Tigers (21-6-3-2) are the newest entry in the Rankings at No. 9, surging into the Top 10 on a 13-game point streak and an 11-0-1-1 run since Nov. 14 — a stretch highlighted by captain Bryce Pickford and a Tigers group that hasn’t lost in regulation over the last month.

Greyhounds’ Christopher Brown Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Soo Greyhounds forward Christopher Brown is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, scoring twice while adding five assists over three wins last week.

Brown contributed a pair of primary assists on Wednesday at home to the Kitchener Rangers before scoring the game-winning goal 1:21 into overtime, helping the Hounds prevail by a score of 3-2. He was back on the scoresheet with another multi-point showing on Sunday, scoring once while adding three helpers as the Hounds beat the visiting Owen Sound Attack 6-4.

A 19-year-old from Toronto, Brown has produced 33 points (11-22–33) over 32 games in this, his fourth OHL season. The former first round (16th overall) pick by the Greyhounds in 2022 has registered 86 points (27-59–86) over 185 career regular season games along with a plus-16 rating. Three of Brown’s 11 goals so far this season have been game-winners as he continues a bounce-back season following an injury shortened campaign in 2024-25.

Firebirds’ Mason Vaccari Named Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week

Flint Firebirds netminder Mason Vaccari is the OHL Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season, going 2-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and .967 save percentage.

Vaccari’s strong overage season continues as he turned aside 26-of-27 shots in a lopsided 9-1 Flint Firebirds win over Guelph on Wednesday. He was back in the crease for a first star performance on Friday, making 32 saves as Flint beat visiting Kitchener 4-1.

A 20-year-old from Mississauga, ON, Vaccari leads the OHL with 18 wins to go with a 2.55 goals-against average, .918 save percentage and two shutouts over 24 games. The 5-foot-11, 184Ib. Vaccari owns a career record of 67-49-5-4 with a 3.28 goals-against average and .893 save percentage with three shutouts over 137 regular season games between Flint and Kingston. Kingston’s fourth round (61st overall) pick in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection, Vaccari was both OHL and CHL Humanitarian of the Year in 2023-24, raising more than $13,000 for the Pediatric Wing at Kingston Health Sciences Centre by donating 50 cents of his own money for every save he made during the season. He suited up for the Columbus Blue Jackets at the 2025 Prospects Challenge in Buffalo.

Frontenacs’ Robin Kuzma Named OHL Rookie of the Week

Kingston Frontenacs forward Robin Kuzma is the OHL Rookie of the Week, recording two goals, three assists and five points over three victories.

Kuzma helped the Frontenacs get back on the winning track Wednesday night, scoring twice while adding an assist in a 7-3 win over Oshawa that ended a nine-game losing slide. He followed-up the first star performance with an assist on Friday as the Fronts beat the West Division-leading Windsor Spitfires 4-3, followed by another assist in Sunday’s 3-0 road win over the Oshawa Generals.

A 17-year-old from Naperville, Illinois, Kuzma has 14 points (9-5–14) through 33 games in his first OHL season. The 5-foot-11, 181Ib. centre was signed by Kingston as a free agent over the summer before being joined by older brother Andrew in black and gold. Kuzma is a graduate of the Chicago Mission AAA program.

Greyhounds Prospect Kalyn McQueen Named GOHL Prospect of the Week

Soo Greyhounds prospect Kalyn McQueen of the Cambridge RedHawks is the GOHL Prospect of the Week, recording two goals, six assists and eight points over a pair of victories.

McQueen was instrumental in Cambridge’s continued success as the first place RedHawks improved to 28-1 with a pair of victories. He recorded two goals and four assists in Friday’s 12-3 road win over the Caledon Bombers before adding a goal and an assist back at home on Saturday as Cambridge defeated the Welland Jr. Canadians 7-1.

A 17-year-old from Puslinch, McQueen has 10 points (4-6–10) through his first eight games with Cambridge after starting the season with 10 points (5-5–10) over 20 games with the OJHL’s Georgetown Raiders. Sault Ste. Marie’s 12th round (240th overall) pick in 2024, McQueen spent 2024-25 with the NOJHL’s Blind River Beavers, producing 24 points (10-14–24) over 50 games. He is a product of the Guelph Jr. Gryphons AAA program.

ORONTO (Wednesday, December 10, 2025) – The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) today announced the third edition of the OHL Cup Top-10 Rankings for the 2025-26 season, with the GTHL’s Toronto Jr. Canadiens along with the New Jersey-based Woodbridge Wolfpack climbing the weekly ranks.

The weekly rankings, determined by a panel of scouts from OHL member teams, highlight the top teams competing for an opportunity to play in the 2026 OHL Cup hosted by the GTHL, which will showcase 25 teams featuring talent eligible for the OHL Priority Selection that will take place at Slush Puppie Place in Kingston on June 12-13, 2026.

Rosters Unveiled for 2026 Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game Presented by Enbridge Gas

TORONTO (Tuesday, December 9, 2025) – The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) today revealed the 40 players selected to compete in the 2026 Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game presented by Enbridge Gas that will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at the Peterborough Memorial Centre, beginning at 7:00pm.

The inaugural event held last January in Brantford saw the Eastern Conference win a closely-matched game by a score of 5-4 in overtime, setting a high standard for the second annual clash of the OHL’s top NHL Draft eligible prospects in just over a month’s time.

Rosters were selected by a committee that included representatives from NHL Central Scouting with input from NHL General Managers along with OHL Vice President of Hockey Operations James Boyd. Each team features 18 skaters and two goaltenders.

The Eastern Conference features three forwards from the host Peterborough Petes including A-rated offensive producer Adam Novotny along with teammates Adam Levac and Leon Kolarik. Caleb Malhotra (Brantford Bulldogs) and Brooks Rogowski (Oshawa Generals) join Novotny as A-rated skaters suiting up for the Eastern Conference.

The Eastern Conference will be led by hockey operations staff from the host Peterborough Petes including General Manager Michael Oke, Head Coach Rob Wilson, Associate Coach Andrew Verner and Assistant Coaches Patrick O’Connor and Nate Oke. Support staff includes Head Trainer and Equipment Manager Brian Miller along with Athletic Therapist Natasha Lagacé.

Across the ice, the Western Conference features a quarter of A-rated skaters in defenceman Chase Reid (Soo Greyhounds) along with forwards Ethan Belchetz (Windsor Spitfires), Alessandro Di Iorio (Sarnia Sting) and Nikita Klepov (Saginaw Spirit). They also feature the highest rated goaltender in the event in Zachary Jovanovski (Guelph Storm), who recently represented the Canadian Hockey League in the CHL USA Prospects Challenge.

The Western Conference is coached by reigning OHL Coach of the Year Jussi Ahokas alongside fellow Kitchener Rangers bench staff in Associate Coach Jeff Kyrzakos and Assistant Coach Brad Flynn. Long-time Head Trainer and Equipment Manager Dan Lebold joins Head Athletic Therapist Nick Lichti in providing support services to the Western Conference.
