Wolves off to fast start at training camp

Quinton Byfield is entering a pivotal season in his hockey career, but the Sudbury Wolves star centreman is taking things in stride.

And what a long, powerful stride it is.

The skilled 6-foot-5, 215-pound Newmarket, Ont. native, a top-rated prospect for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, credits his parents, Clinton Byfield and Nicole Kasper, as well as his agent, Jeff Jackson, for keeping him grounded.

“They have been talking to me all summer about it,” said Byfield, who only turned 17 on Aug. 19. “They said I haven’t thought about my draft any other season, so why should this one be so different? They told me there’s going to be a lot of ups and downs, so just keep a level head and keep going.”
