Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced the Week 14 edition of the weekly U16 AAA rankings for the 2025 OHL Cup Showcase Tournament hosted by the Greater Toronto Hockey League.
The 2025 OHL Cup will feature 20 teams consisting of talent eligible for the 2025 OHL Priority Selection. Starting with three Wild Card Play-In matchups on Monday, March 24, all games will be played at the Scotiabank Pond in Toronto until the Championship Final moves to the Mattamy Athletic Centre on Friday, March 28.
The first three teams have clinched spots in the 2025 OHL Cup Showcase including the GTHL’s Don Mills Flyers, Toronto Titans and Vaughan Kings.
The weekly rankings are determined by a panel of OHL Central Scouting staff and represent the top teams that are competing to play in the annual year-end championship tournament.
TORONTO, ON — Today, the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced the Week 20 edition of its CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2024-25 season.
With a CHL-best 45 wins and .836 points percentage, which is being powered by their current eight-game point streak (7-0-1-0), the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) continue their dominance as they remain No.1 for a 13th consecutive week. Right behind them, sitting in second, are the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The Wildcats are allowing 2.33 goals per game on average and hold a +118 goal differential – both of which rank first among all clubs in the CHL. Finally, the Rimouski Océanic of the QMJHL are sitting at No.3 for the fourth week in a row. The 2025 Memorial Cup hosts extended their point streak to six games (5-0-1-0) over the last seven days and they continue to hold the third-best points percentage (.745) in the CHL.
Among the notable changes to this week’s rankings were the rise of the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League (WHL), the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL, and the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL. With 18 wins over their last 22 games (18-2-1-1), the Tigers are up to No. 6 – their highest ranking since October 15. Having earned big victories against the Barrie Colts and the No.1-ranked London Knights in the last week, the Rangers have climbed up to seventh. Meanwhile, with 13 victories over their last 16 contests (13-3-0-0), the Hitmen have risen by one place to sit eighth this week.
The next rankings will be released the week of March 3, following the 21st week of regular season action in all three member leagues of the CHL.

Spitfires’ Ilya Protas Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week
Washington Capitals prospect Ilya Protas of the Windsor Spitfires is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, registering five goals, nine assists and 14 points over four contests.
Protas opened the week with a goal and an assist on Monday as the Spitfires secured a 4-1 Family Day win over the Owen Sound Attack. He added two goals and two assists on Friday in a 6-5 overtime loss to the Sarnia Sting. The 6-foot-5, 200lb. forward tallied three assists on Saturday in a 5-4 loss to the Flint Firebirds. Protas capped off the week with a five-point performance on Sunday, recording two goals and three assists to earn first star honours in a 7-3 win over the Saginaw Spirit. Protas reached the 40-goal mark to become the highest goal-scoring import player in Spitfires franchise history.
The 18-year-old from Vitebsk, Belarus, has appeared in 52 games with the Spitfires this season, recording 41 goals, 57 assists, and 98 points. Protas ranks fourth in OHL scoring and third in goals. He was selected third overall by Windsor in the 2024 CHL Import Draft after being chosen in the third round (75th overall) by the Washington Capitals in the 2024 NHL Draft.
Also considered for the award this week, Chicago Blackhawks prospect Nick Lardis of the Brantford Bulldogs posted seven goals and five assists in four games played. Protas’ Spitfires teammate Ryan Abraham was also a standout, tallying five goals and five assists in three outings.
An 18-year-old from Warkworth, Ont., McIvor holds a 17-14-2-0 record this season, including two shutouts, with a 2.82 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage over 36 games. A former fourth round pick (83rd overall) by the Battalion in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, he is in his second full OHL season, boasting a career record of 25-25-2-0 with a 3.12 goals-against average, a .900 save percentage, and three shutouts in 56 regular-season games. McIvor was recently ranked 22nd among North American goaltenders on the NHL Central Scouting Midterm Rankings.
Also considered for the award this week, Los Angeles Kings prospect Carter George of the Owen Sound Attack went 2-1 with a 2.30 goals-against average and .936 save percentage, while Jacob Oster of the Oshawa Generals was also a standout in the crease, going 2-0-1-0 along with a 1.68 goals-against average and .943 save percentage.
Attack’s Cole Zurawski Named OHL Rookie of the Week
Owen Sound Attack forward Cole Zurawski is the OHL Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, recording three goals and two assists over four contests.
A 17-year-old from Barrie, Ont., Zurawski has recorded 15 points (6-9-15) in 32 games this season between the Owen Sound Attack and Flint Firebirds. Selected by Flint with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection, he was traded to Owen Sound on January 8, 2025, in exchange for Sam McCue and draft picks. Zurawski also represented Team Canada White at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, winning gold this past November.
Also considered for the award this week, Soo Greyhounds blueliner Chase Reid recorded six points (2-4–6) in three games while Guelph Storm forward Lev Katzin (1-4–5) and Sudbury Wolves forward Hudson Chitaroni (0-5–5) each produced five points.

Cal O’Reilly plays 1,000th AHL contest: Former Windsor Spitfires forward Cal O’Reilly hit a major milestone on Thursday, suiting up in his 1,000th career American Hockey League contest. O’Reilly, from Seaforth, Ont., is just the ninth player in AHL history to accomplish the feat, reaching the milestone back where his pro career first started with the Milwaukee Admirals. Now 38, O’Reilly played three seasons in Windsor from 2003-06, recording 99 points in his final season. He was a fifth round pick by Nashville in 2005. Toronto, ON – After setting a high bar with skill on display, plenty of physicality and a thrilling overtime finish before a capacity crowd last month in Brantford, the Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game presented by Enbridge Gas comes to Peterborough in 2026, the home of the league’s longest continuously operating franchise.
Opening its doors with the advent of the Petes in 1956, the Peterborough Memorial Centre is one of the OHL’s iconic venues and will host next year’s event on Wednesday January 14, 2026.
The inaugural showcase brought close to 200 NHL scouts out to see the Ontario Hockey League’s rising stars on display in an East vs. West format, one decided in favour of the Eastern Conference on an overtime goal by Peterborough’s own Porter Martone of the Brampton Steelheads.
“I’ve heard so much positive feedback from folks across the league, colleagues with the National Hockey League, our great fans and the players themselves on this exciting event,” said OHL Commissioner Bryan Crawford. “Brantford was a great spot to launch, and Peterborough presents a tremendous opportunity for the league to build upon that foundation and take this event to the next level.”
Featuring a hometown star eligible for the 2026 NHL Draft in third overall 2024 OHL Priority Selection choice Colin Fitzgerald, the Petes are eager to welcome fans, scouts and the OHL community to the Liftlock City next January.
“We’re very excited to be co-hosting the 2026 Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects game with the City of Peterborough at the Peterborough Memorial Centre,” noted Petes General Manager and Vice President of Operations Michael Oke. “This is a great opportunity for our fans to see some of the top prospects for the 2026 NHL Draft up close as they face-off against each other. Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced the Week 13 edition of the weekly U16 AAA rankings for the 2025 OHL Cup Showcase Tournament hosted by the Greater Toronto Hockey League.
The 2025 OHL Cup will feature 20 teams consisting of talent eligible for the 2025 OHL Priority Selection. Starting with three Wild Card Play-In matchups on Monday, March 24, all games will be played at the Scotiabank Pond in Toronto until the Championship Final moves to the Mattamy Athletic Centre on Friday, March 28.
The playoffs are about to begin across the province and the Huron-Perth Lakers, Sun County Panthers and Toronto Marlboros are all climbing the Top-10 as the pace picks up!
The weekly rankings are determined by a panel of OHL Central Scouting staff and represent the top teams that are competing to play in the annual year-end championship tournament.
