OHL ANNOUNCES TOP PERFORMERS OF THE MONTH FOR FEBRUARY

TORONTO (Sunday, March 1, 2026) – The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) today announced Top Performers of the Month for February.

Player of the Month – Marco Mignosa (Soo Greyhounds) – 12 GP, 12G, 11A, 23 PTS., +9
Finishing tied for the league scoring lead during February, Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Marco Mignosa of the Soo Greyhounds is the OHL Player of the Month. The fifth-year veteran produced four different performances of three points or more, headlined by two goals and two assists in a 6-0 win at Saginaw on Feb. 4th, two goals an a helper in a 6-5 shootout win at Owen Sound on Feb. 14th, a goal and four helpers in a 6-5 shootout loss at Sarnia on Feb. 16th and a hat-trick accompanied by an assist on Feb. 20th vs. Sarnia. Mignosa wrapped up February with two goals in Friday’s 6-3 loss to the Kingston Frontenacs. Mignosa excelled offensively throughout February despite the fact that the Hounds were without regular contributors Brady Martin, Chase Reid and Jeremy Martin sidelined due to injury.

A 20-year-old from Vaughan, ON, Mignosa sits fourth in OHL scoring with 79 points (30-49–79) over 57 games. He continues to climb the Greyhounds’ all-time list with 279 points (111-168–279) over 295 career regular season games, a figure that includes a franchise record 14 shorthanded goals. Originally selected by the Greyhounds in the second round (36th overall) in 2021, Mignosa was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the seventh round (215th overall) of the 2025 NHL Draft.

Defenceman of the Month – Kashawn Aitcheson (Barrie Colts) – 10 GP, 4G, 13A, 17 PTS., +10
New York Islanders prospect Kashawn Aitcheson of the Barrie Colts is the OHL Defenceman of the Month for the second straight month, leading OHL blueliners in scoring. Aitcheson contributed seven different multi-point performances in February for the Colts, who won nine of their 10 games on the schedule. He scored a pair of goals two different times, first on Feb. 16th at Ottawa as the Colts won an Eastern Conference showdown by a score of 8-5, and again on Feb. 21st, adding two assists as the Colts beat the Brantford Bulldogs 7-4. Aitcheson became the Colts’ all-time leading scorer among blueliners in February, passing previous record-holder Brandt Clarke.

A 19-year-old from Toronto, Aitcheson leads OHL defencemen with 63 points (26-37–63) over 48 games along with a league-best plus/minus rating of plus-42. The 6-foot-2, 203Ib. rearguard has matched last season’s total of 26 goals, and owns career totals that include 164 points (61-103–164) over 199 regular season games. Originally Barrie’s third round (50th overall) pick in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, Aitcheson was chosen by the New York Islanders in the first round (17th overall) of the 2025 NHL Draft. He won a bronze medal with Canada’s National Junior Team this past January at the World Juniors in Minnesota.

Goaltender of the Month – Zachary Jovanovski (Guelph Storm) – 6-1-0-0, 2.54 GAA, .905 SV%, 210 SV, 1 SO
NHL Draft eligible Guelph Storm netminder Zachary Jovanovski is the OHL Goaltender of the Month for February, helping stabilize the Storm in the Western Conference standings with six victories, including five of those on the road, along with a steady workload. Jovanovski’s marquee performance came in the form of a 38-save shutout in Sault Ste. Marie on Feb. 21st as the Storm skated to a 1-0 win. He helped the Storm come out of February in sole possession of sixth place in the Western Conference standings.

A 6-foot-2, 170Ib. sophomore from Tecumseh, ON, Jovanovski owns a record of 23-16-1-3 with a 3.33 goals-against average and .894 save percentage over 45 games for the Storm this season. The former seventh round (134th overall) pick by Guelph in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection is ranked 10th among North American goaltenders on NHL Central Scouting’s midterm rankings. He appeared in 19 games for the Storm in 2024-25, going 6-10-3-0 with a 3.71 goals-against average and .886 save percentage.

Rookie of the Month – Nikita Klepov (Saginaw Spirit) – 12 GP, 6G, 17A, 23 PTS., +2
Setting himself apart as the OHL Rookie of the Month for the third time this season, Saginaw Spirit forward Nikita Klepov continues to lead the OHL in points as the calendar turns to March. He finished tied for the OHL scoring lead during February, recording at least three points six different times as the Spirit remain in the playoff hunt. Klepov helped Saginaw defeat rival Flint for the first time this season on Feb. 11th, recording a goal and three assists in a 5-4 triumph. He matched that output two nights later as Saginaw took a lopsided 11-3 win on Feb. 13th in Sarnia. He finished February strong. scoring while adding two assists in Saturday’s 5-2 win over visiting Peterborough.

A 17-year-old from Deerfield Beach, Florida, Klepov’s 85 points (34-51–85) through 59 games are the most in the OHL. The 6-foot, 180Ib. right-wing is having a historic season in Saginaw, establishing a new rookie record for points while currently sitting three goals off Cole Perfetti’s club mark of 37 by a rookie set in 2018-19. Klepov’s second half has been particularly impressive as he earned Connor McDavid 97 Award MVP honours at this year’s OHL Top Prospects Game in January. He’s currently the 16th-ranked North American skater on NHL Central Scouting’s midterm rankings for the 2026 NHL Draft. Klepov won a Hlinka Gretzky Cup gold medal with the United States last summer. He’s committed to Michigan State University (NCAA).

TORONTO (Monday, January 12, 2026) – The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) today announced Top Performers for the week of regular season games ending Sunday, January 11th.


Colts’ Cole Beaudoin Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Utah Mammoth prospect Cole Beaudoin of the Barrie Colts is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, recording seven points (2-5–7) over three victories.

Beaudoin returned from Canada’s National Junior Team and immediately recorded three straight multi-point efforts as the Colts continue to hold down top spot in the Central Division. He helped the Colts skate to a 6-3 win in Guelph on Friday night, recording a shorthanded goal and two assists. The Colts were back at home on Saturday, with Beaudoin contributing a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over the Brampton Steelheads. He chipped in two assists in a first star performance in Oshawa on Sunday, helping the Colts skate to a third straight victory in a 4-1 triumph over the Generals.

A 19-year-old from Kanata, ON, Beaudoin’s 1.71 points-per-game lead the OHL, translating to 48 points (16-32–48) over 28 contests. The 6-foot-2, 211Ib. centre has produced 74 goals, 107 assists and 181 points over 210 regular season games since being Barrie’s first round (10th overall) pick in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection. The Utah Mammoth selected Beaudoin with their first round (24th overall) pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. The son of former OHL and NHL forward Eric Beaudoin, Cole has represented Canada internationally several times, winning World Junior bronze, World Under-18 gold and Hlinka Gretzky Cup gold.

Storm’s Zachary Jovanovski Named Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week

Zachary Jovanovski of the Guelph Storm is the Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week, going 1-0-0-1 with a 1.44 goals-against average and .963 save percentage.

Jovanovski turned aside 78 shots and helped the Storm earn three of a possible four points. He stopped 40-of-41 on Wednesday night in Owen Sound, helping the Storm beat the Attack 4-1 while earning second star recognition. He was back in the crease on Saturday in Peterborough, making 38 saves as the Storm earned a point in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Petes.

An 18-year-old from Tecumseh, ON, Jovanovski is 16-11-1-2 on the season with a 3.56 goals-against average and .893 save percentage. The former seventh round (134th overall) pick in 2023 will man the crease for the Western Conference in this week’s Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game presented by Enbridge Gas in Peterborough. Jovanovski recently represented the Canadian Hockey League in the 2025 CHL/USA Prospects Challenge in Calgary and Lethbridge, AB. He owns a career OHL record of 22-21-4-2 with a 3.61 goals-against average, .890 save percentage and one shutout.

Firebirds’ Charlie Murata Named OHL Rookie of the Week

Flint Firebirds forward Charlie Murata is the OHL Rookie of the Week, recording three points (1-2–3) in as many games as Flint went 3-0.

Murata found the back of the net on Wednesday against Sarnia, scoring his second goal of the season with 4:55 remaining in the second period of a 7-4 win. He chipped in with a primary assist on Luka Graziano’s second of the campaign with 2:06 left in the opening frame on Friday against Saginaw as the Firebirds beat the Spirit 4-2. Murata got involved shorthanded on Saturday, providing a helper to Kevin He midway through the second period in a 3-1 win over the Kingston Frontenacs.

A 16-year-old from Scarborough, ON, Murata has 10 points (2-8–10) over 33 games in his rookie season. The 6-foot, 183Ib. right-wing was chosen by Flint with the first round (8th overall) pick of the 2025 OHL Priority Selection from the OHL Cup finalist Don Mills Flyers U16 program. He enjoyed a standout showing with Canada Red, winning World U17 Challenge gold in November with 10 points (4-6–10) over five contests. Murata is committed to Michigan State University (NCAA).

Otters Prospect Vaughn Barr Named GOHL Prospect of the Week

Erie Otters prospect Vaughn Barr of the St. Marys Lincolns is the GOHL Prospect of the Week, going 2-0 with a 0.50 goals-against average, .981 save percentage and one shutout.

Barr turned aside 21-of-22 shots on Friday night as St. Marys defeated visiting Sarnia 9-1. He turned-in his third shutout of the season at home on Saturday, making 31 saves as the Lincolns defeated the Listowel Cyclones 6-0, stretching their current winning streak to 10 games.

A 16-year-old from St. Marys, Barr is among the GOHL’s top rookie goaltenders, sporting a record of 10-2-1-0 with a 2.16 goals-against average and .923 save percentage over 14 games. Barr won a Silver Stick title last season as a member of the Huron-Perth Lakers U16 AAA team before being chosen in the 10th round (194th overall) by the Otters in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection. Barr will represent Team Thornton in this week’s GOHL Top Prospects Game taking place as part of the Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game festivities in Peterborough.

Steelheads’ Konnor Smith Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Anaheim Ducks prospect Konnor Smith of the Brampton Steelheads is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, registering four goals, three assists and seven points in three victories.

Smith opened the week with a goal on Wednesday in the Steelheads’ 7-2 win over the Brantford Bulldogs. He followed up with a career-high performance on Friday, netting a hat trick and adding two assists to earn first star honours in a 6-1 victory over the Peterborough Petes. Smith capped off the week with an assist on Sunday, earning third star honours as the Steelheads secured a perfect week with a 4-1 win over the Kingston Frontenacs.

The 20-year-old defenceman recorded 10 goals, 16 assists, and 26 points in 40 games this season between the Steelheads and Owen Sound Attack. A Windsor, Ont., native, he was traded to Brampton at the start of the new year from the Attack. Originally selected by the Peterborough Petes in the ninth round (175th overall) of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, Smith has totaled 70 points (26-44-70) in 219 career regular-season games. An OHL champion with the Petes in 2023, he contributed two points during their 23-game playoff run. Smith was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the fourth round (97th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft.

Also considered for the award this week, 2025 NHL Draft-eligible prospect Michael Misa of the Saginaw Spirit registered eight points (3-5-8) in three games played, while Noel Nordh tallied three goals and three assists in three contests.

Battalion’s Mike McIvor Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Mike McIvor of the North Bay Battalion is the OHL Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season, going 3-0 including a shutout, along with a 1.67 goals-against average and .950 save percentage.

Helping the Battalion secure the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, McIvor turned aside an impressive 95 shots last week. He stopped 38 of 39 shots on Thursday, earning first star honours in a 5-1 win over the Oshawa Generals. Back in net on Friday, he made 28 saves in a 5-4 victory against the Niagara IceDogs. McIvor capped off the week with a 29-save shutout on Sunday as the Battalion defeated the Sudbury Wolves 4-0, once again earning first-star honours and officially clinching a post-season berth.

A recently turned 19-year-old from Warkworth, Ont., McIvor played to a 22-17-3-0 record this season, including three shutouts, with a 2.86 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage over 45 games. A former fourth round pick (83rd overall) by the Battalion in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, he is in his second full OHL season, boasting a career record of 30-28-3-0 with a 3.11 goals-against average, a .901 save percentage, and four shutouts in 65 regular-season games. McIvor was ranked 22nd among North American goaltenders on the NHL Central Scouting Midterm Rankings.

Also considered for the award this week, Los Angeles Kings prospect Carter George of the Owen Sound Attack went 2-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and .958 save percentage, while Jacob Oster of the Oshawa Generals was also a standout in the crease, going 2-0 along with a 1.50 goals-against average and .947 save percentage.

Storm’s Zachary Jovanovski Named OHL Rookie of the Week

Guelph Storm goaltender Zachary Jovanovski is the OHL Rookie of the Week, playing to a 2-1 record along with a 2.67 goals-against average and .921 save percentage.

Turning aside 93 shots last week, Jovanovski earned first star honours on Tuesday, stopping 38 of 39 shots in the Storm’s 2-1 win over the Flint Firebirds. He returned to the crease on Thursday, making 29 saves in a 6-4 victory over the Erie Otters. Selected by the Storm in the seventh round, 134th overall, of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection from the Sun County Panthers U16 AAA program, the 6-foot-2, 170lb. netminder played to a 6-10-3-0 record this season including a shutout, along with a 3.71 goals-against average and .886 save percentage. The 17-year-old from Tecumseh, Ont. also spent part of the season with the GOJHL’s Ayr Centennials.

Also considered for the award this week, Brady R. Smith of the Soo Greyhounds registered three goals and two assists, while Filip Ekberg of the Ottawa 67’s tallied six points (1-5-6) in three games played.

GREENTREE, PARSONS AND BELCHETZ NAMED OHL TOP PERFORMERS OF THE WEEK

Toronto, Ont. – The Ontario Hockey League today announced Top Performers of the Week for the week of regular season games ending Sunday, January 5, 2025.



Spitfires’ Liam Greentree Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Los Angeles Kings prospect Liam Greentree of the Windsor Spitfires is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week for the second time this season, registering five goals, seven assists and 12 points over four victories.

Greentree captained the League-leading Spitfires to a four-win week, starting with a goal and three assists in a 6-4 victory over the Flint Firebirds on New Year’s Eve, earning first star honours. On Thursday, he recorded a career-high five-point game with a goal and four assists to claim second star honours in a 9-5 win against the Guelph Storm. Greentree continued his strong play on Saturday, earning first star honours with two goals in a 7-5 triumph over the Erie Otters. He capped off the week on Sunday by netting the overtime winner in a 4-3 victory over the Niagara IceDogs, earning first star honours once again and sealing a perfect week for the Spitfires.

A recently turned 19-year-old left-winger from Oshawa, Ont., Greentree leads all OHL players in points this season with 68 (29-39–68) in 38 games. Drafted 26th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2024 NHL Draft, the 6-foot-3, 216lb. forward has tallied 203 points (90-113-203) in 163 regular season games for Windsor. He was selected by the Spitfires in the second round (34th overall) of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection.

Also considered for the award this week, Spitfires teammate and Washington Capitals prospect Ilya Protas posted five goals and five assists in the four wins. Philadelphia Flyers prospect Denver Barkey of the London Knights was also a standout, recording 11 points (3-8-11) in three contests.

Rangers’ Jackson Parsons Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Jackson Parsons of the Kitchener Rangers is the OHL Goaltender of the Week for the fourth time this season, going 3-0-0-0, along with a 1.30 goals-against average, and a .948 save percentage.

Turning aside 73 shots last week, Parsons made 23 saves on New Year’s Eve, defeating the North Bay Battalion 5-2 to close out the year. He followed that up on Thursday by stopping 27 of the 28 shots he faced, earning first star honours in a 2-1 overtime win against the Brantford Bulldogs. Parsons capped off the week with another victory on Friday, turning aside 23 of 24 shots to earn second star honours in a 3-1 win over the Erie Otters.

A 20-year-old from Embrun, Ont., Parsons is 23-6-1-0 on the season, leading all OHL netminders with a 2.03 goals-against average and ranking second in save percentage at .928, along with four shutouts over 30 games played. The former third-round pick (53rd overall) by Kitchener in 2020 is now in his fourth OHL season, boasting a career record of 60-38-5-0 with a 2.95 goals-against average, .903 save percentage, and eight shutouts over 108 regular season games. Parsons is committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Clarkson University next season.

Also considered for the award this week, Zachary Jovanovski of the Guelph Storm was excellent, going 1-1 including a shutout with a 1.97 goals-against average and .938 save percentage, while Trenten Bennett of the Owen Sound Attack was also a standout in the crease, going 1-2 including a shutout, with a 1.68 goals-against average and .944 save percentage.

Spitfires’ Ethan Belchetz Named OHL Rookie of the Week

Ethan Belchetz of the Windsor Spitfires is the OHL Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, recording three goals, four assists, and seven points in four victories.

Belchetz kicked off the week with a pair of assists on Thursday as the Spitfires secured a 9-5 home victory over the Guelph Storm. He remained productive on Saturday, picking up an assist before scoring the third period game winner to earn third star recognition in a 7-5 win against the Erie Otters. The 6-foot-5, 226lb. forward from Oakville, Ont. capped off the week with another goal on Sunday, helping the Western Conference-leading Spitfires edge the Niagara IceDogs 4-3 in overtime. Windsor now boasts a 29-7-2-1 record this season.

Selected first overall by Windsor in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection from the Oakville Rangers U16 AAA program, the 2024 OHL Cup champion and MVP is excelling in his rookie campaign. He ranks second among all OHL rookies with 26 points (12-14–26) over 30 games. Belchetz won gold representing Canada White at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in November, recording five points (4-1–5) in as many games.

Also considered for the award this week, Brooks Rogowski of the Oshawa Generals scored twice and added two assists over four games played. Guelph Storm netminder Zachary Jovanovski was also a standout, playing to a 1-1 record including a shutout, along with a 1.97 goals-against average and .938 save percentage.
