Toronto, Ont. – The Ontario Hockey League today announced Top Performers of the Week for the week of regular season games ending Sunday, March 10, 2024.



Generals’ Dylan Roobroeck Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

New York Rangers prospect Dylan Roobroeck of the Oshawa Generals is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, recording three goals, four assists, and seven points over three contests to help the Generals earn six points last week.

Helping the Generals stretch their current winning streak to seven games last week, Roobroeck found the back of the net on Tuesday, scoring a goal in a 5-4 win over the Ottawa 67’s. Roobroeck hit the scoresheet again on Friday, registering a four-point night with a goal and three helpers to defeat the Brantford Bulldogs 6-4. The 6-foot-7, 195lb. forward extended his point streak to six games with a goal and an assist to earn first star honours on Sunday, as the Generals defeated the Barrie Colts 5-1 at home.

A 19-year-old from London, Ont., Roobroeck has recorded 63 points (21-42–63) through 63 outings this season. Originally selected in the third round (45th overall) by the Niagara IceDogs in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection from the London Jr. Knights AAA U16 program, Roobroeck has tallied 44 goals, 93 assists, and 137 points over 195 regular season games between the Generals and the IceDogs. Roobroeck was the New York Rangers’ sixth round (178th overall) pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Also considered for the award, Beau Jelsma of the Barrie Colts registered four goals and four assists to help the Colts earn five points last week. 2024 NHL Draft eligible Marek Vanacker of the Brantford Bulldogs also found success, tallying seven points (3-4-7) in three games played.

Steelheads’ Jack Ivankovic Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

First-year netminder Jack Ivankovic of the Mississauga Steelheads is the OHL Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season, playing to a 2-0 record along with a 1.50 goals-against average and .953 save percentage.

Making a total of 61 saves last week, Ivankovic stopped 28 of the 29 shots that came his way on Wednesday morning to earn second star honours as the Steelheads defeated the Brantford Bulldogs 5-1 at home. The 5-foot-11, 170lb. rookie closed out the weekend with a 33-save performance on Sunday in the nation’s capital, earning third star honours in a 4-2 win over the Ottawa 67’s.

Ivankovic has appeared in 22 games for the Steelheads this season, playing to a 12-4-4-0 record, along with a 2.68 goals-against-average and .918 save percentage. The hometown product was the Steelheads’ first round (seventh overall) pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection from the Mississauga Senators U16 program. Ivankovic represented Team Canada White at the 2023 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in November, returning from Prince Edward Island with a gold medal.

Also in the running for the award this week, Charlie Schenkel of the Soo Greyhounds played to a 2-0 record with a 1.45 goals-against average, and .947 save percentage. Andrew Oke of the Saginaw Spirit was also solid in the crease, playing to a 1-0-1-0 mark including a shutout, along with a 1.45 goals-against average and .945 save percentage.

67’s’ Jacob Maillet Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Jacob Maillet of the Ottawa 67’s is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, recording nine assists over three contests to help the 67’s earn three points last week.

Maillet started the week with a four-point performance on Thursday, registering four assists as the 67’s defeated the Niagara IceDogs 8-2. He found the scoresheet again on Friday, tallying a pair of helpers as the 67’s earned a point in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Mississauga Steelheads. Maillet closed out the week with three more assists on Sunday as the 67’s fell to the Erie Otters 6-5. Seven of Maillet’s assists last week were primary helpers.

A soon-to-be 21-year-old from Dundas, Ont., Maillet has recorded 14 goals, 35 assists, and 49 points over 59 games played between the Windsor Spitfires and 67’s this season. Originally selected in the second round (39th overall) by the Guelph Storm in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection from the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs U16 AAA program, the 6-foot-1, 193lb. forward has registered 162 points (49-113–162) over 246 regular season games between the Storm, Spitfires and 67’s. Maillet attended rookie camp with the Vancouver Canucks as a free agent invite this past September.

Also considered for the award this week, 67’s teammate Cooper Foster scored four times and added three assists over three games played. Colorado Avalanche prospect Calum Ritchie of the Oshawa Generals was also productive, contributing a total of five goals and two helpers to a three-win weekend.

Petes’ Liam Sztuska Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Liam Sztuska of the Peterborough Petes is the OHL Goaltender of the Week with a 1.00 goals-against average and .978 save percentage in a win last week.

Backstopping the Petes to victory with a 45-save performance on Sunday, Sztuska stopped 45 of the 46 shots that came his way in a 4-1 road win over the Owen Sound Attack. Among the busiest goaltenders in the League this season, Sztuska has faced at least 40 shots in 15 of his last 17 starts. Five of his 10 wins this season have featured at least 40 saves.

A 19-year-old from Mississauga, Ont., Sztuska owns a season mark of 10-22-4-1, posting a 3.86 goals-against average and .906 save percentage while facing the league’s third-highest total of 1,530 shots. Selected in the fifth round (94th overall) by the Petes in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection from the Toronto Titans U16 AAA program, the 6-foot, 181lb. netminder has appeared in 63 games over three seasons, registering a 3.70 goals-against average and .902 save percentage. Sztuska won an OHL Championship with Peterborough last spring.

Also in the running for the award this week, Jackson Parsons of the Kitchener Rangers played to a 2-0 record with a 2.40 goals-against average, and .884 save percentage. Andrew Oke of the Saginaw Spirit was also solid in the crease, playing to a 2-0 mark with a 2.50 goals-against average and .900 save percentage.

OHL ANNOUNCES TOP PERFORMERS OF THE MONTH FOR FEBRUARY

Toronto, Ont. – The Ontario Hockey League today announced Top Performers of the Month for games played in February 2024.

Player of the Month – David Goyette (Sudbury Wolves)

Seattle Kraken prospect David Goyette of the Sudbury Wolves is the OHL Player of the Month, leading the League with 25 points including eight goals and 17 assists over 13 games played in February. Increasing his point streak to 15 consecutive games, Goyette registered points in all 13 showings this month including a trio of three-point performances on Feb. 9 against the Niagara IceDogs, Feb. 19 against the Guelph Storm, and Feb. 25 against the Mississauga Steelheads. Goyette tallied his sixth four-point showing of the season on Feb. 11, tallying a goal and three assists in an 8-7 overtime win against the Steelheads. He helped the Wolves climb to second in the Eastern Conference standings with a February record of 8-4-0-1, clinching a spot in the OHL Playoffs. He’s the first Wolves player to earn OHL Player of the Month honours since Michael Sgarbossa in February 2012.

A soon-to-be 20-year-old, Goyette leads all OHL point-getters with 95 points (36-59-95) through 57 games played this season. The Hawkesbury, Ont. native ranks fifth in goal-scoring and second in assists, registering a plus/minus rating of plus-15. A 5-foot-11, 181Ib. right-winger, Goyette is in his third season with the Wolves, having recorded 110 goals, 150 assists and 260 points over 186 career regular season games since being selected by Sudbury with the 11th overall pick of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection. Goyette was drafted by the Seattle Kraken with their second round (61st overall) pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, signing a three-year entry-level contract with the club on Apr. 10, 2023. Goyette won a gold medal with Canada at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

Defenceman of the Month – Sam Dickinson (London Knights)

Top 2024 NHL Draft-eligible prospect Sam Dickinson of the London Knights is the OHL Defenceman of the Month, recording 20 points including four goals and 16 assists along with a plus/minus rating of plus-9 over 12 games. Dickinson helped the League-leading Knights play to a February mark of 10-2 as they clinched a spot in the OHL Playoffs for a 23rd straight season. Recording points in 11 of his 12 outings, Dickinson recorded a three-point showing on Feb. 7, registering three assists in a 9-2 win over Flint. He helped lead the Knights to an overtime victory over the Generals on Feb.11, tallying a pair of assists including one on the game-winner. Dickinson registered a goal and an assist on Feb. 24, helping the Knights earn a 4-3 shootout win over the Ottawa 67’s. Dickinson follows teammate Oliver Bonk in being named OHL Defenceman of the Month. They’re the first set of teammates to claim the honour in the same season since Knights rearguards Evan Bouchard and Adam Boqvist last did so in 2018-19.

A 17-year-old from Toronto, Ont., Dickinson sits third among OHL defencemen with 63 points (17-46–63) over 58 games while his plus/minus rating of plus-45 ranks second among all OHL skaters. Selected fourth overall by the Niagara IceDogs in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, the 6-foot-3, 195Ib. defenceman has registered 26 goals, 60 assists, and 86 points in 120 played over two seasons with the Knights. He helped the Knights reach the OHL Championship Series last spring after being voted to the OHL’s first all-rookie team, recording four goals and four assists during their 21-game playoff run. Dickinson won gold with Canada at the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup last summer and was the seventh ranked North American skater on NHL Central Scouting’s Midseason NHL Draft Rankings released on Jan. 12.

Goaltender of the Month – Dom DiVincentiis (North Bay Battalion)

Winnipeg Jets prospect Dom DiVincentiis of the North Bay Battalion is the OHL Goaltender of the Month for February, playing to a 7-1 record with a 2.39 goals-against average and .916 save percentage along with a shutout. Helping the Battalion clinch a spot in the OHL Playoffs, DiVincentiis opened the month with his first shutout of the season on Feb. 1 with a 22-save performance against the Mississauga Steelheads. DiVincentiis had a pair of 30+ save performances, earning wins on Feb. 16 against Ottawa and Feb. 23 against Saginaw as the Battalion now sit third in the Eastern Conference standings. This marks DiVincentiis’ third OHL Goaltender of the Month honour, following previous recognition in January and March 2023.

A soon-to-be 20-year-old from Bolton, Ont., DiVincentiis has played to a season record of 21-9-3-1 including a shutout, along with a 3.22 goals-against average and .891 save percentage. Selected in the sixth round (116th overall) by North Bay in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, the 6-foot-3, 200lb. netminder has appeared in 110 career regular season contests, recording a 71-26-5-2 record, 2.68 goals-against average and .907 save percentage over three seasons. Backstopping the Battalion to back-to-back Eastern Conference Championship Series appearances, the reigning OHL Goaltender of the Year has had great success in the playoffs, making 26 appearances while accruing a record of 13-9-4-0 with a 2.76 goals-against average and .914 save percentage.  A former seventh round pick of the Winnipeg Jets in the 2022 NHL Draft, DiVincentiis signed a three-year entry-level contract with the club on July 5, 2023.

Rookie of the Month – Riley Patterson (Barrie Colts)

Barrie Colts forward Riley Patterson is the OHL Rookie of the Month for the second month in a row, leading all first-year talents with 18 points including 10 goals and eight assists over 12 games. Patterson put together six multi-point performances in the month of February, including a a three-point effort with a pair of goals and an assist on Feb. 17. Patterson tallied five points in his final two games of the month, closing out February with a second three-point performance on Feb. 28, scoring two goals and an assist to help the Colts defeat the Sudbury Wolves. Patterson becomes the first player to earn two OHL Rookie of the Month honours in the same season since Shane Wright (Kingston) and Mason McTavish (Peterborough) did so in 2019-20.

A soon-to-be 18-year-old from Burlington, Ont., Patterson currently leads OHL rookies with 26 goals, adding 30 assists for 56 points over 56 games. The 6-foot, 194Ib. centreman joined the Colts last summer, coming over in a trade from the Flint Firebirds who selected him in the third round (57th overall) of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection. A former OHL Cup champion with the Mississauga Senators U16 program, Patterson was the OJHL Rookie of the Year in 2022-23, recording 73 points (30-43–73) over 52 games with the North York Rangers Jr. A program. Patterson was the 116th ranked North American skater on NHL Central Scouting’s Midseason NHL Draft Rankings released on Jan. 12.

Rangers’ Carson Rehkopf Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Seattle Kraken prospect Carson Rehkopf of the Kitchener Rangers is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week for the second time this season, recording four goals, five assists, and nine points over three contests as the Rangers collected four points over the weekend.

Rehkopf had a strong start to the week on Monday afternoon, recording a pair of goals and an assist to earn first star honours as the Rangers defeated the Peterborough Petes 6-2. The 6-foot-1, 196lb. centreman registered a career-high six point performance on Friday, tallying a pair of goals and four assists to once again earn first star honours in a 7-3 win over the Sarnia Sting. The Rangers struggled to find the scoresheet on Sunday, closing out the weekend with a 3-0 loss to the Soo Greyhounds.

A 19-year-old from Vaughan, Ont., Rehkopf ranks first among OHL goal-scorers and third among point-producers, recording 47 goals, 37 assists, and 84 points over 50 games played this season. Seattle’s second round (50th overall) pick in the 2023 NHL Draft has recorded 176 points (95-81–176) in 183 career OHL regular season games with the Rangers after being chosen 17th overall by the club in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection.

Also considered for the award this week, Kingston Frontenacs forward Linus Hemstrom recorded nine points (4-5–9) in four games including a hat-trick on Sunday while Seattle Kraken prospect David Goyette of the Sudbury Wolves put up seven points (4-3-7) in three contests as the Wolves went 2-1.

Knights’ Michael Simpson Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Michael Simpson of the London Knights is the OHL Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season, playing to a 2-0 record including a shutout, along with a 1.00 goals-against average and .956 save percentage.

Making a total of 43 saves last week, Simpson stopped 25 of the 27 shots that came his way on Monday afternoon as the Knights defeated the Windsor Spitfires 7-2 at home. The 6-foot-1, 198lb. netminder closed out the weekend with an 18-save shutout on Saturday, blanking the Kingston Frontenacs in a 5-0 win.

Playing to a 29-8-0-1 record, the 21-year-old from London, Ont. holds a league-low 2.52 goals-against average, along with a .909 save percentage in 38 games this season. Currently backstopping the Knights to the top of the OHL standings, the former 2023 OHL champion has appeared in 136 career regular season contests, recording a 2.94 goals-against average and .905 save percentage over three seasons, going 73-48-5-4 in the process. Selected in the 10th round (193rd overall) by the Peterborough Petes in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection, the 2023 OHL Playoffs MVP attended development camp with the Pittsburgh Penguins last summer.

Also considered for the award this week, Collin MacKenzie of the Ottawa 67’s was solid in the crease, stopping 60 shots while registering a 1-0-0-1 record including a shutout, along with a 1.44 goals-against average and .952 save percentage.

Spirit’s Rodwin Dionicio Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Anaheim Ducks prospect Rodwin Dionicio of the Saginaw Spirit is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, leading the league with nine points including three goals and six assists in three games.

Dionicio helped the West Division-leading Spirit collect four of a possible six points on the road last week, starting an Eastern trek with a career night on Thursday in Barrie, putting up two goals, three assists and five points in a 7-6 win over the Colts. All three of Dionicio’s assists in the game were primary in nature while he also scored a highlight reel goal to me named the game’s first star. Dionicio and the Spirit lost 6-3 in Sudbury on Friday, though Dionicio managed to earn third star recognition with a pair of assists. The Spirit closed out their weekend trip with a 5-3 win on Sunday in North Bay, with Dionicio contributing a goal and an assist to give him points in six of his last seven games.

A 19-year-old born in Newark, New Jersey but having spent most of his life in Herisau, Switzerland, Dionicio is enjoying a career-best 58-point (20-38–58) season over 46 games between Saginaw and Windsor. The 18th overall pick of the 2021 CHL Import Draft by the Niagara IceDogs, the 6-foot-2, 205Ib. defender has recorded 139 points (41-98–139) over 153 career OHL regular season games between Niagara, Windsor and Saginaw. The Anaheim Ducks selected Dionicio in the fifth round (129th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft. He’s represented Switzerland at the World Juniors three different times, including this past January when he registered four points (2-2–4) in five games.

Also considered for the award this week, Soo Greyhounds forward Jack Beck recorded seven points (1-6–7) in three games while Montreal Canadiens prospect Florian Xhekaj of the Brantford Bulldogs scored four times, putting up six points (4-2–6) as the Dogs went 3-0.

Bulldogs’ Matteo Drobac Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Brantford Bulldogs netminder Matteo Drobac is the OHL Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season, going 3-0 with a 1.62 goals-against average .939 save percentage and one shutout for the East Division leaders.

Drobac’s week began with a 22-save outing in Windsor on Wednesday before stopping Liam Greentree and Ryan Abraham in the shootout as the Bulldogs defeated the Spitfires 5-4. The overage veteran was back in the crease at home on Friday, stopping all 24 shots he faced in a 3-0 shutout win over the Owen Sound Attack. Drobac’s third shutout of the season was followed-up by a 31-save performance on Sunday in Niagara as the Bulldogs prevailed 5-1, increasing their cushion atop the East Division standings to five points.

A 20-year-old from Oakville, Ont., Drobac sits tied for second in the league with 24 wins this season, complemented by a 3.20 goals-against average, .891 save percentage and three shutouts in 42 games. Drobac is the Bulldogs’ all-time leader in career wins (62) and sits three games back of Kaden Fulcher (112, 2015-18) for the most in the club’s history. The 6-foot-2, 199Ib. netminder was selected by the Hamilton Bulldogs in the sixth round (110th overall) of the 2019 OHL Priority Selection from the Halton Hurricanes U16 program.

Also considered for the award this week, Owen Flores of the Niagara IceDogs was kept busy, stopping 136 shots while registering a 2-1 record, 2.95 goals-against average and .938 save percentage over three games.

Wolves’ David Goyette Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Seattle Kraken prospect David Goyette of the Sudbury Wolves is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, contributing three goals, six assists and nine points while registering a plus-3 rating in three wins.

Riding an eight-game point streak, Goyette led the League with nine points, helping the Wolves become the first Eastern Conference team to reach 30 wins this season. He was instrumental in Sudbury’s 6-5 comeback win over Sault Ste. Marie on Wednesday recording a goal and an assist in the latter half of the third period. The 5-foot-11, 181lb. right-wing found the scoresheet again on Friday, registering a a goal and two helpers in a 6-1 win over the Niagara IceDogs. Goyette closed out the weekend with a four-point performance on Sunday, tallying a goal and three assists including one on the winning goal as Sudbury clinched an 8-7 overtime victory over the Mississauga Steelheads.

A 19-year-old from Hawkesbury, Ont., Goyette ranks second among all OHL point producers, tallying 31 goals, 53 assists, and 84 points in 50 games this season. Selected in the second-round (61st overall) by the Seattle Kraken in the 2022 NHL Draft, the former first-round (11th overall) pick by the Wolves in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection has put up 105 goals, 144 assists and 249 points in 179 OHL regular season contests. Goyette signed an entry-level NHL contract with Seattle on Apr. 10, 2023.

Also considered for the award this week, Montreal Canadiens prospect Owen Beck of the Saginaw Spirit recorded seven points (4-3–7) in three games. Defenceman Finn Harding of the Mississauga Steelheads also had a standout week registering seven points (1-6–7) in three showings, while Florida Panthers prospect Sandis Vilmanis of the North Bay Battalion recorded six goals in a pair of victories.

Colts’ Ben West Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Ben West of the Barrie Colts is the OHL Goaltender of the Week following two wins, making 81 saves with a 3.00 goals-against average and .931 save percentage.

West backstopped the Colts to a pair of wins despite their being outshot in both contests. Earning third star honours on Monday, West turned aside 38 of the 41 shots he faced as the Colts defeated the Erie Otters 6-3. The 6-foot-3, 156lb. netminder was back in the crease with a 43-save, second star performance on Saturday to help the Colts defeat the Kingston Frontenacs 4-3 at home, improving Barrie’s season record to 21-25-3-0.

A 20-year-old hometown product, West owns a season mark of 10-13-1-0, posting a 3.94 goals-against average and .889 save percentage. Selected in the 10th round (190th overall) by the Erie Otters in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection from the Toronto Marlboros U16 AAA program, West has appeared in 53 games over two seasons spent with the Colts, registering a 3.78 goals-against average and .889 save percentage.

Also in the running for the award this week, Ian Michelone of the Ottawa 67’s played to a 2-0 record with a 1.50 goals-against average, and .936 save percentage. Andrew Oke of the Saginaw Spirit was also solid in the crease, playing to a 2-0 mark including a shutout, with a 1.93 goals-against average and .920 save percentage.

IceDogs’ Gavin Bryant Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Gavin Bryant of the Niagara IceDogs is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, contributing two goals, five assists and seven points while registering a plus-3 rating in three games.

Bryant found the score sheet on Thursday, registering a goal in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Sudbury Wolves. Bouncing back on Saturday, the 5-foot-11, 192lb. forward tallied a pair of assists including one on the game-winner to help Niagara defeat the Peterborough Petes 5-4 in extra time. Bryant closed out the weekend tying his career-high single-game high of four points with a goal and three primary assists in a 6-4 win over the North Bay Battalion on Sunday.

A 19-year-old from Ingersoll, Ont., Bryant has recorded 36 points (13-23–36) through 42 outings this season. Originally selected in the second round (37th overall) by the Owen Sound Attack in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection from the Brantford 99ers AAA U16 program, Bryant has tallied 32 goals, 68 assists, and 100 points over 135 regular season games between the Attack and the IceDogs.

Also considered for the award this week, Colorado Avalanche prospect and January OHL Player of the Month Calum Ritchie of the Oshawa Generals scored two times and added five assists to help the Generals earn nine points. OHL Rookie of the Month Riley Patterson of the Barrie Colts was also productive, contributing a total of four goals and three helpers on the road last week.

Knights’ Owen Willmore Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Owen Willmore of the London Knights is the OHL Goaltender of the Week following three wins including a shutout, with a 1.96 goals-against average and .918 save percentage.

Stopping a total of 67 shots last week, Willmore turned aside all 24 attempts he faced on Tuesday to earn his first career OHL shutout and first star honours as the Knights blanked the Kitchener Rangers 4-0. The 6-foot-3, 180lb. netminder was back in the crease with a 22-save performance on Friday to help the Knights defeat the Erie Otters 5-3. Willmore closed out his week stopping 24 of the 27 shots that came his way along with four shootout attempts in a 4-3 win road over the Owen Sound Attack on Saturday.

A 19-year-old hometown product, Willmore owns a season mark of 11-4-0-2, posting a 3.12 goals-against average and .895 save percentage. Selected in the 14th round (279th overall) by the Knights in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, Willmore has appeared in 23 games over two season, registering a 3.32 goals-against average and .886 save percentage. He appeared in three games in last year’s OHL Championship Series, going 1-1 with a 1.44 goals-against average and .958 save percentage.

Also in the running for the award this week, Winnipeg Jets prospect Dom DiVincentiis of the North Bay Battalion played to a 2-0 record including a shutout, with a 2.00 goals-against average, and .918 save percentage. Nick Surzycia of the Sarnia Sting was also solid in the crease, playing to a 2-0 mark with a 2.40 goals-against average and .922 save percentage.

GREENTREE AND HILLEBRANDT NAMED OHL TOP PERFORMERS OF THE WEEK

Toronto, Ont. – The Ontario Hockey League today announced Top Performers of the Week for the week of regular season games ending Sunday, January 28, 2024.



Spitfires’ Liam Greentree Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

2024 NHL Draft-eligible forward Liam Greentree of the Windsor Spitfires is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, contributing three goals, four assists and seven points while registering a plus-6 rating in two games.

Greentree recorded a career-high six-point night with three goals and three assists on Saturday, being named the game’s first star as the Spitfires defeated the Peterborough Petes 8-2. He found the scoresheet again on Sunday, registering an assist in a 5-2 loss to the Saginaw Spirit.

A recently turned 18-year-old from Oshawa, Ont., the 6-foot-2, 198lb. forward ranks eighth among all OHL point-getters, recording 64 (27-37–64) through 41 outings as the Spitfires own a record of 14-27-3-1 on the season. Selected in the second-round (34th overall) by Windsor in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, Greentree has put up 52 goals, 57 assists and 109 points in 102 regular season contests. Rated 12th among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting ahead of the 2024 NHL Draft, Greentree recently represented Team White at the Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game held in Moncton, NB last week, registering the team’s sole marker.

Also considered for the award this week, Winnipeg Jets prospect Colby Barlow of the Owen Sound Attack recorded seven points (4-3–7) in three games. Dalyn Wakely of the North Bay Battalion also had a standout week, registering two goals and five assists in three games.

Colts’ Sam Hillebrandt Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Sam Hillebrandt of the Barrie Colts is the OHL Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season following a pair of wins with a 2.40 goals-against average and .940 save percentage.

Stopping a total of 78 shots last week, Hillebrandt turned aside 38 of the 41 attempts he faced on Thursday as Barrie defeated the Owen Sound Attack 7-3. The 6-foot-1, 166lb. netminder was back in the crease with a 40-save performance on Saturday, stopping all four shootout attempts that came his way to earn first star honours in a 3-2 shootout win over the Oshawa Generals as the Colts improved to 18-24-1-0 on the season.

An 18-year-old from Riverview, Florida., Hillebrandt owns a season mark of 11-11-0-0, posting a 3.29 goals-against average and .907 save percentage. Originally hailing from Michigan, Hillebrandt played in the Detroit Little Caesars AAA program before moving to Florida. He won a gold medal with the United States National Junior Team at the 2024 World Juniors in Sweden. The Colts signed Hillebrandt as a free agent ahead of the 2022-23 season after he spent the  2021-22 season with the Florida Alliance North 16U organization.

Also in the running for the award this week, Nathan Day of the Flint Firebirds played to a 2-0 record, with a 2.36 goals-against average, and .917 save percentage. Charlie Schenkel of the Soo Greyhounds was solid in the crease, playing to a 2-0 mark with a 2.00 goals-against average and .923 save percentage.

Wolves’ Quentin Musty Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

San Jose Sharks prospect Quentin Musty of the Sudbury Wolves is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, contributing two goals, eight assists and 10 points while registering a plus-5 rating in three games.

Musty recorded a season-high six-point night with two goals and four assists on Thursday, being named the game’s first star as the Wolves defeated the Barrie Colts 7-3. The 6-foot-2, 202lb. left-winger found the scoresheet again on Friday, registering a helper in a 7-3 loss to the Erie Otters. Musty closed out the weekend with a three-point performance on Sunday, tallying three assists as Sudbury earned their second win of the weekend against the Colts, this time on home ice.

An 18-year-old left-wing from Hamburg, NY., Musty’s 1.81 points-per-game this season is the second-highest production rate in the OHL. He ranks second among all Wolves point-getters with 56 (21-35–56) through 31 outings as the Wolves own a record of 23-14-3-2, good for second in the Eastern Conference. Selected in the first-round (26th overall) by the San Jose Sharks in the 2023 NHL Draft, the former first overall pick by the Wolves in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection has put up 59 goals, 106 assists and 165 points in 134 OHL regular season contests. Sharks signed an entry-level NHL contract with San Jose on Oct. 4, 2023.

Also considered for the award this week, Wolves teammate and St. Louis Blues prospect Dalibor Dvorsky recorded nine points (5-4–9) in three games. Chicago Blackhawks prospect Gavin Hayes of the Soo Greyhounds also had a standout week, registering seven points (3-4–7) in three showings.

Bulldogs’ Matteo Drobac Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Matteo Drobac of the Brantford Bulldogs is the OHL Goaltender of the Week,  playing to a 3-0 record including a shutout, along with a 1.00 goals-against average and .957 save percentage to help the Bulldogs move atop the Eastern Conference standings.

Making a total of 66 saves last week, Drobac stopped 18 of the 20 shots that came his way on Wednesday as the Bulldogs defeated the Oshawa Generals 3-2. The 6-foot-2, 199lb. netminder returned to the crease on Saturday, blocking 22 of the 23 shots he faced in a 5-1 win over the Windsor Spitfires. Drobac closed out the weekend with a 26-save shutout to earn first star honours on Sunday, blanking the Mississauga Steelheads 3-0. Sunday’s victory saw Drobac become the winningest goaltender in Bulldogs history as his 56th career victory surpassed the previous mark held by Kaden Fulcher (2015-18).

Playing to an 18-8-4-2 record, the 20-year-old from Oakville, Ont. has registered two shutouts, along with a 3.20 goals-against average, and a .893 save percentage in 32 games this season. Selected in the sixth round (110th overall) by the Bulldogs in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection, the former 2022 OHL champion has appeared in 100 career regular season contests, recording a 3.29 goals-against average and .890 save percentage over four seasons, going 56-31-8-2 in the process.

Also considered for the award this week, top 2024 NHL Draft prospect Carter George went 2-0 with a 0.50 goals-against average and .982 save percentage including a shutout, while Saginaw Spirit netminder Andrew Oke also went 2-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and .951 save percentage.

Knights’ Oliver Bonk Named Cogeco OHL Player of the Week

Philadelphia Flyers prospect Oliver Bonk of the London Knights is the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, contributing five goals and six assists while registering a plus-6 rating in three victories.

Bonk recorded a career-high five-point night with two goals and three assists on Wednesday, being named the game’s second star as the Knights defeated the Sarnia Sting 9-2. He found the scoresheet again on Friday, registering a goal and an assist in the Knights’ 6-1 win over the Saginaw Spirit. Bonk closed out the weekend with a third consecutive multi-point contest, extending his current point streak to eight games with a pair of goals and assists as the Knights blanked the Owen Sound Attack 10-0. Bonk’s current eight-game run has included seven goals, 13 assists and 20 points.

A recently turned 19-year-old from Ottawa, Ont., Bonk ranks third among all OHL defencemen in points this season, recording 44 (12-32–44) through 33 outings as the Knights own a record of 29-11-0-1, good for third in the Western Conference. Selected in the second-round (26th overall) by London in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection, the 6-foot-2, 179lb. blueliner has put up 22 goals, 65 assists and 87 points in 110 regular season contests. Bonk helped the Knights reach the OHL Championship Series last season, recording 11 assists in 21 playoff matchups. Selected in the first-round (22nd overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2023 NHL Draft, Bonk recently represented Team Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship earlier this month. He signed a three-year, entry-level NHL contract with Philadelphia on Aug. 21, 2023.

Also considered for the award this week, 2024 NHL Draft-eligible defenceman Zayne Parekh of the Saginaw Spirit recorded nine points (5-4–9) in three games. Newly acquired Spirit teammate Owen Beck also had a standout week, as the Montreal Canadiens prospect registered nine points (3-6–9) in three games, including a single-game club record-tying six in his debut with the team.

Knights’ Michael Simpson Named OHL Goaltender of the Week

Michael Simpson of the London Knights is the OHL Goaltender of the Week,  playing to a 2-0 record including a shutout, along with a 0.50 goals-against average and .983 save percentage.

Making a total of 58 saves last week, Simpson stopped 30 of the 31 shots that came his way on Friday night as the Knights defeated the Saginaw Spirit 6-1 at home. The 6-foot-1, 198lb. netminder closed out the weekend with a 28-save shutout to earn third star honours on Sunday, blanking the Owen Sound Attack in a lopsided 10-0 victory.

Playing to a 22-7-0-0 record, the 20-year-old from London, Ont. holds a league-low 2.58 goals-against average, along with a .908 save percentage in 31 games this season. The only goaltender to reach 20+ wins this season, the former 2023 OHL champion has appeared in 127 career regular season contests, recording a 2.98 goals-against average and .904 save percentage over three seasons, going 66-47-5-3 in the process. Selected in the 10th round (193rd overall) by the Peterborough Petes in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection, the 2023 OHL Playoffs MVP attended development camp with the Pittsburgh Penguins last summer.

Also considered for the award this week, Jacob Oster of the Oshawa Generals went 2-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and .930 save percentage, while Kitchener Rangers netminder Tristan Malboeuf also went 2-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and .929 save percentage.
